Refurbished UPS units? Yeah, let me totally trust a lead-acid batter to not catch on fire because they did their jobs correctly fixing what was wrong with these in the first place.

no. thank. you.

A few weeks ago I called CyberPower about one of their 1500VA units that was immediately shutting down after being unplugged. I bought it last year and don't thint it had much of a workout at all. I gave them the serial number and they said that the battery on that unit was 4 years old and you should only expect 2 years from a battery (sounds short). So the batteries were not covered for this case. I did check the invoice and it was a refurb...

Only buy refurbished if a really good deal on the unit and two new batteries to install .

As an owner of 3 cyber power CP1500PFCLCD (older model with shared USB-A ports), I'm extremely satisfied with them.

No issues yet, and has held up great over the years. I do load test a couple times a year and when I lose power the usb driver tells my NAS and home lab server to shutdown.

The best creature comfort? I can mute the alarms! That annoying beep while it means well, drives me crazy.

If any does die, I wouldn't hesitate picking up another one.
