Although far from cheap, these seem comparable to the high-end Panasonic models that are made in Japan (with these Braun models still being made in Germany).

Good luck!

I've used Braun 5 series for almost a decade. Anyone with experience of the two would recommend an upgrade?

I have had the previous top end Braun and also the Panasonic. For me Panasonic is far better.

Link please. Why do you like the Panasonic better? I get razorburn from every razor besides Braun. But I'm curious and the Panasonic. Do you have sensitive skin?

I use the Phillips norelco multigroom. Been the only thing that won't cause razor burn for me, and I've tried DE razors and lathering my own shaving foam. The Phillips is less expensive but it doesn't get everything so I've been looking at upgrades like this. still worth a mention though

The Panasonic Arc 5 has been consistently about $147, without any cleaning station. It has 5 rollers (blades) and is therefore a significant level above this Braun 3-roller (blade) Series 7. Perhaps the Braun Series 7 might be comparable to a 4-roller Panasonic Arc 4, or an even lower model Panasonic than that. One has to consider similar shaving technologies when comparing models, because they both have so many models these days.

I wouldn't say I have sensitive skin.

Having tried several Braun, have to say Panasonic is far superior shaving closely. Especially the arc5

The Arc4 was exactly the model I had in mind (as the Arc3 is, in contrast, a made in China model).

Good luck!

I just checked mine that I have been using for over a decade. Panasonic ES-LT71 -- still works well and close shave.

I have a Braun Series 7 that i've had for 22 years....and it is still going strong. I just replace the foil and head every couple years. I'm tempted to replace it but as I leave it plugged in vs running off of battery only I don't really see a reason.
