Pulled the trigger too quick on this one killer.
Your mileage may vary.... basically deals that are widely available , select locations by store or regions. These can be some of the best deals you will find.

Interesting. I recently bought a very similar Non Contact Voltage Tester Pen, 50-1000V AC [homedepot.com] from Home Depot. It had so many false positives, I found it to be of little value.

The circuit breaker was off (and all the wires in the outlet box were cold), but the non-contact tester would still beep and flash red, intermittently.

I tested it on a door strike plate (nothing electric and several feet away from any wires) and it beeped there too.

I returned it.

You probably needed to adjust the range. In the 12v range, it will give a lot of false positives but this is probably the best proximity tester I have used to date and have owned just about all of them over the years. Early ones (when they first came out) were an absolute joke which is why most electricians preferred wiggies at the time. But they're pretty good now.

I bought this kit a few months ago in the $14 range. I've used the tester and the NCV a few times already and they do what they should. If you can't find this... There are basic $5-6 outlet testers at HD and Lowes currently that can give the same information and NCV devices can be found on Amazon in the $12 range. Obviously not Klein or $8 but if you need these tools and can't find this deal.. There are options. If you just want this because it is cheap, well... good luck Smilie

I have come to find out that when the stock is unusually high, that it is normally an error. Even on HDs website, I was trying to order an item. One store showed like 90, another over 200, one even had almost 1000. Yet when I placed the order, the store would call me and said they couldnt find them.
Happened to me yesterday. Said there were 71 lights in stock so I placed an order 2 for pickup. They cancelled it.

Carmel Mountain (92128) inventory is accurate. Dropped a box of 37 from the steel. They're on the floor in a display box by the other Klein tools.
Thanks got one this morning. They still have a bunch left. Interesting it listed as $29, but at the register it rings up as 7.50.

It really depends on a lot of factors. Theft and item placement is the biggest hurdle. There could be 4 at your store and they could be really high up on the shelf somewhere instead of stocked where it should be.
Yes - high shelf. I got the $85 deal on the Ridgid charger, 4a battery & 6a battery last month in store at home depot but I had to ask 3 different workers until they finally showed me the high up shelf that it was on, way in the back, where you would never find it.

The first 2 people still saw the stock on their handheld inventory thing but they just couldn't find it and basically said well, we must not have it.

The guy who knew where it was said he didn't want me to buy the last 2 because he wanted him for himself. Not sure if they have to wait on them or what.. maybe he was hiding them because he was just hoping for some additional discount. Who knows, but yes you should definitely look hard and ask around if their system says they have a deal in stock.

It isn't really showing the price discount. Still at $29.88 for me.

You have to go into the store. Online pricing does not reflect clearance price.

Good idea, though mine didn't have a range adjustment, AFAIK.
