8960 is a refresh of 8950 which is bigger than 8940.

https://www.digitaltrends.com/com...50-review/

The XPS Desktop 8950 doesn't look much different than last gen's 8940 on a screen, but it has some serious changes. It's 42% larger than the previous model by volume, and Dell puts the extra space to good use. A larger case means more room for cooling, as well as room for water cooling.
Buy ram on your own for $100 is much much better.
I have the 8940 version of this desktop. The chassis can support only graphic cards 10.5 inches or lesser in length. If you would like to upgrade the GPU down the road, this might be a serious bottleneck, even though there is a 1000W PSU option.

When I add 32GB Ram the price goes up to the 1300 dollar range. Is this worth it? Im mostly using it on solidworks and cad

The issue is the PSU's in these for the card upgrades... but this looks to have a 1000W option?
Arey they again shipping these to all 50 states?
Anyone confirm a working 40xx card fits and works in these?

Amex offer: $599 or more get $120 back is available and this should apply?

Would need to add 32GB RAM, RTX 4080 or 4090, 2nd M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive. And would be a nice rig if the #'s / $ work out...

Is +100 for 13700K worth it? Peak is about the same, but lower end is significantly higher.
Also looks like the only downside is no thunderbolt

One big advantage for upgrading to the 13700K is you also get the 'Advanced CPU air cooling' - from what I saw the non-K chip comes with a very small fan that will cause constant throttling. Still not perfect, but that's why I opted for it.

Purchased this earlier on the last post and it's arriving today via FedEx. Breakdown of pricing when purchased shows McAfee AV Costing $50 while most of us already have our own AV. But no option to unselect it. With Dell financing and Amex cashback got it for $744 with other discounts pending. Sweet deal!
