No slick deals post for basketball, tennis, soccer, etc have the default posts saying "well, if I were you, I'd get fitted for proper shoes, racket, ball pressure, attire, etc". Only from golfers. Go figure. We encourage everyone in every sport to just get out and pick up a ball. Be active. Have fun. Golf always starts with "if I were u, I'd start with fitted clubs..."

I'm not sure if you're being serious with your comparison, but last time I checked the only thing you really need for two out of three of those sports is a ball.

I am all for people getting into golf and enjoying themselves. But if you are buying a random $300 driver because it's on sale, that can be extrapolated to a $200 fairway wood because it's on sale, a $150 hybrid, a $700 set of irons, a putter, etc. Before you know if you've spent nearly $1500-2000 on a set of clubs. If you are spending that much money, my opinion is that you do it right and get ones that work for your swing.

People "getting into the sport" to "whack balls" probably aren't going to be looking at $300 dollar drivers. Most likely used drivers in the $50-$100 range.

I purchased the ST-Z220 last week from maple hill for $100 less than this. They also have the ST-Z 220 for the same price.
