rates not too bad, the only decent hotel I would stay at on that list is planet hollywood - and the rate is less than my caesars card (low roller).

And although mentioned in the OP do NOT forget those pesky non-published resort fees!

Just a tip from a now-local......Look at the map to see where your hotel is located. The Strat for example is a good place but a bit isolated if you do not have a car (between strip and downtown). Of course you can rent a car or uber but it is a bit difficult to "walk to the strip". Oh, yes there is indeed the bus system that is good.

I have not been there in ages so it is possible they have a shuttle to the strip or downtown.

Food for thought.

You are correct that most hotels offer 60 minutes for free, but when it's busy it takes more than 30 minutes to find a spot, and another 15 minutes to leave the parking, so you gonna pay some $$$ anyway.

STRAT is $6 for first 4 hours and it's far from Strip attractions.

Mentioned hotels with free parking are even more further, so you need UBER for $20 each time.

I still remember good times (like 10-15 years ago), when hotels had special deals for CC cardholders offering free rooms MON-THU, free parking and resort fees were like $5 or nothing. But today fees are sometimes higher than room itself.

Get an MGM credit card. It's free and it takes you to Pearl level member status for a year, which gives you unlimited free parking at all of their casinos..

Strat is NOT a good place, naked city behind it is one of the worst areas in Vegas. Planet Hollywood is ok, but you can count on crazy outside the front entrance almost nightly.

I just left there after living there 17yrs, it's getting worse and worse down there. They're cramming more and more on and around the strip which causes hell for locals, trust me you'll soon find out everything is geared ONLY towards tourists. And now they're trying to add to the report fees with the moving of the A's. Place is a disaster, hopefully the desert takes it back when they run out of water

Good deals. Yeah resort fees, but many do have free parking. If you are from LA, and want to get out of the house for a long weekend, yes.

Tuscany Suits is just off strip and walking distance to Firefly and Lotus of Siam. $39/nt resort fee.

I had been going to Vegas yearly since the early 90's when it (Vegas) was good! Free parking at every Casino including overnight wether your a guest or not. There was no such thing as the BS resort fee, Food was a good deal and clubs weren't ridiculously priced to get into. You used to be able to easily walk from one end of the strip to the other as I never needed a taxi and there was no Uber. But nowadays, they have messed up the strip so bad and crammed a bunch of expensive hotels and demolished all the places that used to be a good deal. Greed has definitely set in over there and now it's all about taking advantage of tourists! I won't go to Vegas anymore and haven't for nearly 10 years since they started doing unnecessary parking fees and gouging consumers with fraudulent "resort fees". At least Vegas used to be a good place to getaway for the weekend from SoCal!

Tuscany is more than 3/4 of a mile from the strip, and Flamingo Road isn't exactly a stroll in the park - the first intersection you will cross is where Tupac got shot, and that neighborhood certainly has not improved since that time. This is not a walk you want to be taking at the end of a Summer night when it's still 85 degrees out. Daytime when it's 105? Forget it; you're risking your health.

Depending on where you start, just getting off the Tuscany property to get to Flamingo alone can be the better part of a quarter mile.

When you exit the Ahern garage it dumps you right onto those bleak, barren streets in the shadow of the Strat. Cincinnati and Fairfield is the very definition of a place where you know you have no business.

My advice from many visits to the place - chase a hotel, not a rate. Find the place you want to say and settle for the best rate you can find for that hotel. Deeply discounted hotel rates are deeply discounted for a reason. And buying through any OTA can be a risk depending on the hotel. Some take care of you, some punish you for costing them their OTA fee by not booking directly with them. Just because a hotel has several rooms in a particular class ("Premium Queen," for example, that doesn't mean every one of those rooms is as good as the other in that class - far from it.

You can take the RTC "Deuce" from Downtown to the Strip. It takes forever in the evening and at night though. If you're on a packed bus, it won't be a pleasant journey. $6 for two hours, $8 for 24.

Planet Hollywood is by far the best on this list. You're right in the middle of The Strip and the rooms are pretty nice, especially for that price. Luxor is ok. After going to Vegas for 20 years I finally stayed there last year bc the rates were sky high everywhere. The room was small and bland but otherwise it was fine. Still on the strip and they have a tram that will take you to Excalibur or Mandalay. After the pandemic, room rates have really gone up and stayed up in Vegas.
