I'm getting this as well. Yesterday I was able to purchase a $100 card without issue. Today I have twice gotten this error yet my credit card tells me that I made a purchase (via PayPal).

I've previously had good experiences buying from them (but had some troubles checking out in the past).

I purchased a lot of gift cards last fall when they were on sale from multiple sellers (Target, Best Buy, Eneba). However when I tried to use it to purchase an Apple Studio Display in January I had to call Apple to get my account un blocked. I ended up returning that display and I am planning to purchase an iPhone in September. I'm worried that this will happen again so I'll need to call them prior to the day that the iPhone goes on sale.

It is definitely possible some fraudulently-obtained codes can make it into these gift card marketplaces... But the vast majority are just from people who receive these cards (wether as a gift or Apple Store credit) and sell them at a loss to the marketplace (Eneba in this case) at a loss for cash. These marketplaces make their cut on the difference from their acquisition cost and what they sell them to customers for. As far as Eneba goes, I think some of their margin is builtin to the card cost (Otherwise they would make nothing from customers using the Eneba wallet to pay) and most of their margin is in the transaction "fees" they charge. I surmise this just in my own experiences selling unwanted gift cards from many other retailers on other marketplace sites to recover cash for swap into retailers I would prefer while taking a loss on value.
Eneba isn't the one selling these cards. They are independent sellers who likely bought these cards in bulk from scammers for cheap. The majority of these scam victims paid cash for these gift cards so charging back to get their money back isn't inherently possible so many of these cards would turn out to be fine.

Eneba is where they sell stolen cards

(Why else are they giving away free money???)

SD has also been promoting/shilling Shein this past week as it is here, which has been accused of selling goods made by Uyghur slave labor and containing poisonous chemicals in kids' clothing that the US has banned. Oh, the company Goldman Sachs keeps.Mad

I'm still in the dispute process with my CC for a $100 Google Play Gift Card purchased from this seller a couple of weeks ago, which failed to redeem. If you still want to buy, buy at your own risk!

I've had only one issue over the years and the seller resolved it quickly. Eneba is the host. What seller are you using?

Yes, you can.

Just a heads up: the last time this deal came around I purchased $500 and added them to my Apple Account. Within a week, I received a notification that my Apple account had been disabled. I called in and my account was reviewed for potential fraud. After a day, my account was unlocked but I was warned that redeeming gift cards not purchased from "authorized" retailers could result in a permanent ban in the future.
Impressed that your account was restored so quickly.

I had a similar experience after purchasing about $200 in gift cards from Eneba last fall. Took me about three or four weeks to get my account restored ...after several emails, calls, and discussions with Apple supervisors. A very frustrating process. Appears to happen randomly to various folks. Buyer beware.

I recently bought a Mac computer using a big pile of gift cards that I had acquired, but all of them were purchased legit through legit places like Best Buy and Target.

Reading the horror stories in this thread, there is no way that I would risk buying any potential fraudulent cards or stolen cards and getting my Apple account locked, just to save a few dollars. But to each his own.

I can buy Apple Card's at any gas station, pharmacy and the food store. They are all authorized retailers and each and every one of them deals directly with Apple???
Right, but once in college, someone I knew took my credit card and tried to buy $1000 in gift cards at a convenience store. He would have turned around and sold the gift cards to a site like Eneba… it's a form of money laundering.

In my case, the thief bought the gift cards, and also went on a shopping spree at Best Buy to get a PS3, a Blu-Ray player, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Total fraud was over $2500 (plus he also managed to open a credit card in his landlord's name). I pretended not to know what he had done (it was the same day, credit card bill hadn't shown up yet), but I called him and said he had forgotten some stuff at my place, and I'd let him in if he'd meet me there before skipping town. When he arrived, it wasn't me waiting there… it was the cops. They were able to return all the merch, the gift cards were invalidated, and he had committed so much fraud (and all the evidence was in his car) that he was quickly charged with a felony and went to jail.

Stay safe peeps, also stealing will eventually come back to bite the thief.
