I feel like greenworks is spamming as so I'm adding my 2c
greenworks customer service and warranty sucks. I had an 80v snow blower. Worked for 10 minutes then spent 1.5 years (not joking) In a repair shop waiting for parts. This was pre COVID. Terrible terrible. I have an 80v battery that wont work now (charge). It's 3 years old so I'm sol. Stay away. Buyer beware etc

I have both and these work great. I did purchase an extra recondition batter from their ebay store.Batteries have been running for 4 years now with no issues. I expanded my line to include the portable shop vacuum, edger, and DC to AC converter.

I've had great experience with Greenworks Products but absolutely abysmal service with Greenworks Customer Service.

They make great products, but if you run into a problem they make life as hard for you as possible. Because of their customer service I tend to go with other brands such as Ryobi.

I recall buying an Auger from them. Website made it clear it came with an adapter. When the product arrived no such adapter existed, and couldn't even be bought in the US (despite product being marketed and shipped from US directly from Greenworks). I called customer service and they basically told me I should have read the manual before buying the product and that the manual clearly states the adapter is separate. This were quite rude and chastised me for not reading the entire manual BEFORE buying the product.

I don't know about you, but I've never read the entire manual of a power tool before buying it. I'm not even sure how to do that. Needless to say, I returned the product and have gone from greenworks being my first choice to not buying greenworks again.

How are these compared to the ryobi ones that were 99.99 last week? The combo blower and trimmer

That does sound bad. I had a very different experience with them last year. Purchased a 40V mower from Walmart (SD find) that apparently had some issue somewhere (probably something odd with battery) where the mower worked fine briefly, but then just cut out. It would then come on for a short period then die again. Customer service with Greenworks sent me a brand new mower (admittedly, they didn't have a repair center near me, they did check that first). Whatever was happening with the mower/batter self-resolved, I now have a backup mower and second battery. I've since purchase more Greenworks items as a result, been happy with everything since then.

They refused to send me a new one and said I just have to wait for parts. After I got upset I got out on a waiting list for a new snow blower.

'Unfortunately we do not currently have any in stock. Your name would be added to a list and when the snow throwers come back in stock around Fall of 2018, a replacement would be sent to you.'

Customer service sucked. I had an issue when the trimmer head fell apart. Moderate use. Rep refused to help after I could not give a receipt as it was a gift when I bought my house. Then, they said they go off the serial number. They said it was 4 years old even though I used the trimmer for one single summer. Apparently your warranty starts the day it comes off the line and sits on store shelves for years, even if you used it for less than a season. I couldn't even buy the part I wanted. Greenworks just wants you to buy a whole new kit or trimmer if something goes wrong, likely because they make more money, instead of offering parts for a reasonable price. For this reason I don't buy greenworks, and whenever anything lawn care comes up, I chime in with my 2 cents to avoid Greenworks if at all possible.

I like them. Slightly older version of these same 40V units. The trimmer line is very tiny and was breaking constantly, so I opened up the holes in the spool a little and bought some thicker line and now it doesn't break as often.

Bought the Greenworks 40v chainsaw when it was on clearance. The battery would not charge after a couple months. Called Greenworks cs, spoke for about 10 mins, and they shipped a new battery.

Keep in mind the quality is just ok. aka kinda cheap.

Ryobi one is 18v battery vs this is 40v. Big difference for blower.
