They are not refurbished. They were leased and used by other companies at least three years and sell as is after getting back from leasing.

After looking through several pages of the desktops/laptops/mobile workstations, that does appear to be what's happening. They have USED 10th gen laptops with $1700 price tags... Insane. The range appears to be 6th -> 10th. If all you're doing is spreadsheets and emails really anything will work for that, although, even with the coupons, these look high for USED shit.

I literally almost bought a NEW 12th or 13th gen (I forget) w/ 32 GB ram 1 TB M.2 NVME and a 16 GB 3080 TI in it from another deal posted within the last week or so - which was also Dell (Alienware) at the same price after taxes.
Sale is a JOKE and RESENT companies that play this game. All do to a certain extent but $1500 for Surface 3 Laptop??

This is one of the reasons I refuse to ever buy anything Dell.

With FTC on a mission cracking down on companies now for cancelling recurring memberships, hope they continue the work they neglected for years and go after these gross tactics

I wonder when the Intel 12th gen laptops will make their way to the refurbished store. The performance gap between the 11th and the 12th is quite big.

that's usually the tradeoff
If that were true then modern laptops would last 20 minutes because laptop manufactures aren't going to put in battery capacity larger than 99wh. Unless you mean laptops haven't increased in speed for 20 years, but now last a week per charge.

Either way you're wrong Big Grin

From my personal experience, dellrefurbished.com sells retired products from dell finance, a company that may offer a service similar to leasing a car. This means that other companies could lease computers from Dell Financial by paying a fixed monthly fee, and at the end of the lease, Dell Financial collects them and resells them on dellrefurbished.com at various tiers. Thus, their so called refurbished products are much older than the ones sold on Dell's own online store.
I got a workstation laptop from this deal to run multiple servers and process data. For the application, older gen chips run great and the laptop itself was in excellent condition. For under 200$, I couldn't find a better deal for my use case. Anyone trying to devops or high end gaming shouldn't be looking at refurb discounts anyway lol

i'm not sure how new you are to electronics, but the usual tradeoff for increased performance for absolutely anything that relies on a battery is reduced battery life. you'd have to be braindead to think that I somehow meant laptops haven't increased in speed for 20 years. but when you increase performance while keeping the rest of the specs the same, you almost always sacrifice battery life (unless you introduce an increased battery).

Idk man, I'd argue current chips are more efficient than older ones. You can do more with less power, as implied by Aku. There's a relationship between the two, but not a direct correlation as technologies improve. Seems 'new to electronics' may have been a Freudian slip Wink

where did I claim that current chips *aren't* more efficient than older ones? protip: I didn't. but to anyone that isn't new to electronics, there is a clear relation between performance and battery life. if you aren't aware, you're clearly new to the scene or you're clearly ignorant. based on the rest of your reply, you're the latter.

if the fact that there's a clear correlation between increased performance and decreased battery life is foreign to you, there's no "freudian slip" in my message. but you can cope however you'd like lmfao

This is unfortunately or fortunately not the official dell reefurb website. Thats called Dell outlet. Dell refurbs just use older "refurb" machines, Dell outlet is where the real deals can be found.

I ordered a Dell 7300 touch from the prior memorial day sales. I ordered a B grade one and had to send back the first one. The battery was low, the fan was making a loud noise and the TouchPad was having issues.

I am about to have to send back the replacement one as the left click button does not work.

While searching the prior posts it seems like most worked out well. It does seem to be a bit hit or miss and should check them carefully when you receive.
