Well my cats have all eaten either fancy feast or friskies (mostly fancy feast except one who had a thing for friskies) their whole lives. They all so far have lived until about 18/19 years old, healthy and thriving their whole lives until the last weeks before they passed away. Even the vets have always been impressed when I'd take them in when they were older, saying they seemed much younger health/looks wise than they actually were.

Is there healthier stuff out there? Sure. But it's kinda like people. You aren't gonna eat hot dogs, taco bell, etc every meal but for a treat? It's fine.

Thanks Salty
What is caticles and why should I trust this over multiple vets my cats see? Who is the creator Jess and what are her credentials? Every single major brand is bad apparently?

How convenient they have referral links and codes for all the best brands too.

Caticles is also trying to market and get referral money from Tap Water testing kits and $350 cat water purifiers with $450 filters?

It's selling an eBook?

This site couldn't appear less credible. I agree with your argument to a point but this site is garbage and made to earn, not educate. At least SD user Autumn isn't profiting from their anecdotal evidence.
Turn your alert off already.

Ignorance is bliss. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I guess the megacorp marketing worked. FYI, I have 2 foster fails from a shelter. I've had similar discussions with them, and they conceded that the reason they feed what they do is that they need the discounts and monetary support from the megacorps. And that most animals will have short stays.

I'm not going to argue. If you can't accept facts and cherry pick points, while taking things out of context, then there's no point in discussing anything with you. Bye.
How many times did you edit this and how many more posts have you made after saying there was no point discussing this? Peace

These people that dump on posts would complain their HDMI cable only carries an HDMI signal. And that it somehow causes cancer.

That's close to impossible. Garbage in, garbage out. Even tho the megacorps make a lot of horrible expensive foods, too.

However, this is a good list: https://www.caticles.com/best-che...-cat-food/

You can often get good deals on Chewy, Petco, Amazon introductory offers, which will make them cheaper. Even sometimes on very good food like Instinct, Wellness, Fussie, and Tiki. Pro Tip: order autoship on Chewy, cancel, then wait for the next deal or establish a new account.

In grocery / big box stores, I And Love And You is above average (which is pretty much the only good food there).

This is within a few cents of your $1.00 / 3 ounces (at regular price) and is Top 10-rated by CatFoodDB, and my felines love the stuff: https://www.chewy.com/american-jo...01lwUdHdGC

Pro Tip 2: If a cat doesn't like a food, mix it with smelly Tiki.
Regardless of how good the ingredients are, if your cat refuse to eat them, it is meaningless.

Slow poison.

SD shilling again for $.

Questionable Ingredients
meat by-products
wheat gluten
vegetable starch - modified
soy flour
corn starch

By-products (unnamed!) = slaughterhouse waste. Listed as the first ingredient. Any meat is much less.

Any grain or related items are not digestible in cats, are garbage filler that you're paying for, and are potential allergens.

There's questionable ingredients in some of the food you eat at restaurants.

OK, let your cat order what it wants to eat. And have it read the ingredient list. Then your argument won't be so ridiculous.

Stop pestering people. The information is valuable but you're way beyond that.

I have had dozens and dozens of cats growing up, we fed some cheese noodles and prime rib and ice cream. They lived to be 18-22. Some cats live long and some die young. My sister gave her cat all types of insane foods and it still died. Pets die. It sucks, it happens.

Your first cat died at 8 years old from Friskies? You are a vet huh? Proof it was Friskies? Not sure why you make comments such as "People choose to be ignorant every day" or "Ignorance is bliss"...Some people are HURTING, and I would rather see stray cats or kittens have something to eat rather than nothing...Simply vote the thread down, why insult other community members?
He's not lying! Friskies is bad!

I mean, it's probably fine for cats to eat, and my cats love the extra gravy varieties - but Friskies ran my grandma over and stole my mailbox.

Just saying....

People choose to be ignorant every day. I just feel sorry for the pets when that occurs.

If you can't handle the science, feel free to continue to buy this unhealthy garbage. I'm not going to argue with you. But you should reconsider having pets.
It's 2023. Using phrases like "the science" followed by some representation of absolutism is a sure-fire way to discredit yourself to anyone that's not an imbecile.

If a cat food led to a statistically significant longer lifespan than the average lifespan of a housed cat, the manufacturers would be plastering it all over. I've yet to see such an ad. Not interested in the "but they'll be healthier while they live" debate bc it's also lacking in any statistical support.

Fake news.

Friskies mugged me and stole my wallet.
