I was also $50 short from the free adjustable base. I chatted with customer service and they were able to give me the adjustable base despite being $50 short.
Note that the adjustable base is NOT returnable. They pride themselves on their return policy. And to be fair, the exchange or return policy IS nice. Just be prepared to have your original purchase price docked by 10% if you're exchanging, or 20% for a refund. After this, it's another $299 docked from the adjustable frame because it's not refundable. Make sure you get the mattress you want the first time.

Got their extra firm mattress - and it's not where near being firm
BTW, I tried online chat for additional $50 registration couple, but no luck. Still a very good deal.
