One of the best grocery store ice creams I've had. Lowest I've seen it marked down to is $4.99, but with Nob Hill Something Extra rewards (free to join), it's $2.97, limit 4.

Not to say ice cream is healthy, but fat boy is full of total junk ingredients. So no it is not better. I assume you mean it tastes better? Definately, not a general 'better' at all.
For me, Tillamook tastes like home made quality ice cream. The ingredients are generally quality. No corn syrup, no palm/canola oils, no harsh preservatives.

Tillamook probably one of the better mass market ice cream . It doesn't go low as frozen dessert. It too has junk filler ingredients like tara gum and guar gum but it's not excessive. I think it gives it a weird mouthfeel. Haggen Daz Vanilla at least is one of the few mass market ice creams that doesn't use fillers.

Tillamook French Vanilla
Cream, Skim Milk, Milk, Sugar, Pasteurized Egg Yolks, Water, Vanilla Extract, Guar Gum, Tara Gum, Natural Flavor, Citric Acid, Annatto (color), Xanthan Gum, Locust Bean Gum

Fat Boy Madagascar Vanilla
Cream, Fresh Whole Milk, Liquid Sugar (Sugar, Corn Syrup), Non-fat Dry Milk, Vanilla Extract, Stabilizer (Cellulose Gel, Cellulose Gum, Mono & Diglycerides, Polysorbate 80, Carrageenan, Dextrose, Salt), Corn Syrup, Vanilla Bean.

What "full of total junk ingredients" are you referring to? Corn syrup and sugar are pretty much interchangeable in terms of "junk"-iness. They both are highly processed. Sugar offers zero health benefit over corn syrup.

I'd be more concerned about Tillamook's "Natural Flavor". Many ingredients fall under the term natural flavor. Natural flavor does not mean it's natural. Flavoring ingredients are chemically refined and mostly carcinogenic. Manufacturers get away with not listing actual ingredients and lumping into the "Natural Flavor"
