Free curbside. (they started charging for it.)
Free online shipping for most items. (Selection can be different online)
You get rewards.

There's also a few other perks for Plus, like half off tire install packages, certain generic medications are free instead of $4 for a 30 day supply, and you get earlier entry to the store in the morning. But the Sam's Cash and the free shipping are the biggest benefits for me. We have a family of 6 and the Sam's Cash alone more than pays for the difference in fees.

It's worth it just for the free online shipping imo, that's why I have plus for sam's but regular for Costco

If you have Gmail, you can just add +Sams before the @ to change your email but it goes to the same inbox. Then next year and +sams2 and so on.
