Wow this company sent a buyer to debt collection after the buyer won a Paypal dispute case.

Seems like a good price, but I'll never order from Northern Tools again. The last time I tried myself and a bunch of other Slickdealers got scammed. They advertised a free Milwaukee inflator with purchase of two M12 batteries. Then they shipped everybody just the batteries and canceled the inflator, claiming it was a mistake even as they continued to advertise the deal. They refused to even provide me (and others) a pre-paid shipping label to return the batteries, and were rude all the way around. Ultimately, I had to dispute the charge with my credit card provider. I get it; mistakes happen. But you don't just cancel the most valuable part of an order and charge people full price without even asking, and if you do fark up you work with people to at least get a refund as painlessly as possible.

I think these prices are super slick for large patio rugs. Here's the description:
  • Made of woven 100% polypropylene
  • UV coated to protect against fading and other sun damage
  • Durable and low-maintenance
  • Just remove dust or spray with water and dry
  • Withstands rain, sun and heavy foot traffic

Yes, exactly right.

But this price is slick.

For comparison, Walmart [walmart.com] has a very similar rug on sale for $44.97 (vs. $15.79 at Northern Tool).

The 9x12 model has a listed weight of 8.4lbs, and the 9x12 RV rug has a ship weight of 4.5lbs. These must be 1mm/2mm thick, might be decent for a throwaway RV setup but probably not for a back patio.

Yeah. I try really hard to be understanding. Mistakes happen; places are cutting expenses to the bone trying to compete on price, with customer service frequently suffering for it. But they seemed downright hostile and out to screw their customers.... and screw that. And it wasn't just one person either. It was pretty much across the board, and certainly not just a single bad CSR or anything. Management had to know about this issue and been on board with just screwing everybody over.
