Just speculation, but Purina is a subsidiary of Nestle. A lot of hate for the Nestle conglomerate online, much founded in good reason.

Purina One 31 pound is normally 105.00 bucks, eh? 🙄 I'm sure it was flying off the shelves at that price. Thank God they lowered it to $75!! If you use a coupon you can get it for 12 cents a pound cheaper than the non-sale everyday price at Sam's!

I don't think the formula changed in the past couple months. There was a slight change in 2020 where they also added probiotics. This food is never discounted this much. I've been buying it for the past 4 years and only heard of a formula change back in 2020, so I think this is more of 1800petmeds having a great coupon rather than them offloading this specific food brand. Otherwise we'd see the same discount at Petco and Petsmart.
The formula has changed again, at least in some of the SSS lines. They've removed probiotics.

Nice! Got one 35lb bag for $34.74 shipped. I usually get a 47lb bag of the complete essentials for $67-$69 from petsmart/co. Considering another order to make it 70lbs for the same price of a 47lb from petsmart/co.

Got adult and pup version of pro plan. Right around transition age, so it will help to have it on hand when he's ready. Doesn't look like it blocks you from multiple purchases

Can someone clarify if the discount is only for the first order or does it also apply to each subsequent order?

Holy deals! My cat is on Azodyl for renal function. This stuff NEVER goes on sale. I was able to get 2 bottles and get the max $50 discount, plus I had $5 in reward credit to use.

Promotions like this are always for the first order only.

Any ongoing auto-ship savings for pet products are generally closer to a 5%, maybe 10% discount.

Did two separate auto ships orders to maximize discount. Anyone see their auto ship up on their account yet? Trying to make sure I cancel them before I forget.

Whaaaaat why has my vet never mentioned this medicine to me?? How advanced is your kittys renal issue? Does it help with constipation? Mine has supposedly only very minimal reduction in function so far and not official kidney disease but she is dehydrated all the time.

Meds are typically not done until medically necessary. Normally you would start with a dietary change and can usually continue that way for years. Make sure to feed wet and low phosphorous.

Azodyl is great! It's a probiotic that helps block absorption in the intestines of some of the substances they get from food thst their kidneys have trouble processing. Downsides are that it is expensive and has to be kept refrigerated. My current CKD kitty is in the early stages and staying there! I've also used with a kitty that survived kidney disease for 6 years. We find it a game changer! No prescription needed, I usually order from 1800Petmeds, it will cost extra to ship since it has to be refrigerated. For kitty constipation, I've used Mirilax, 1/4-1/2 tsp per day, mixed with 3ml water in an oral syringe and squirted down their throats. Some cats will let you sprinkle it on wet food. Check with your vet!

There's actually a lot of debate, including among vets, about the utility of renal food formulas, as they tend to not be higher in protein and many cats find them unpalatable. The vets I've seen would rather the cat ate a higher protein diet than refused to eat prescription renal food.
