Note that you'll pay a lot more than $84 total. There's also a "resort fee" and then of course the taxes and fees. I think my wife booked a night closer to $130. Not a bad deal for 4 people to get into a waterpark for two days and have a hotel room.
We have visited the PA one almost 1x per year. We just went about a month ago and I will admit the "feeling" isn't the same. For instance, the main lobby had a very cozy feeling with sofas and decorations for the seasons. Now, it's just an emtpy space. The resort also removed all microwaves in the rooms (probably to force people to just buy more food) with one per floor in the ice machine room. Even though the focus isn't to use the microwave much, it was PITA to walk over to the room with the microwave and wait for others to finish using it.

The Arcade also used to be kid friendly so kids could have fun winning "something" here and there. Now, everything is extremely rigged to "maybe" payout like 1x every 30+ plays. In other words, even though the kids would want to go to the arcade, I would avoid it completely. Not to mention, the cost per gameplay is ridiculous. I think it comes to like 2 to 3 dollars PER play...

Regarding this 84 per night gimmick, I've tried and no joke, but the days where the 84 applies are the most obscure days during the week and it's only a few days here and there. So if you are planning for a weekend trip, don't expect much.

As many have mentioned, those resort fees do hit hard. Even though the amenities might not add up to the total fee amount, make sure to get those headband ears. Might not be worth the 30+ you pay per night, but it's something lol.

Overall, it can still be a worthwhile trip since if the cost of an entrance to most parks are about 30 to 40 per person. If a family of 4 goes for a day, it comes out to about the same while also including a night to sleep in.
Also, if you are interested, Groupon usually has sales on this place as well too, and theirs include 6 passes (instead of the standard 4, and each extra is $50). It maybe cheaper if you are going with a larger party to do via groupon instead.

Crummy bait and switch. The cheapest room was $279...More taxes and fees then the room "cost"

edit: at final check out jumped from $214 to $279. Tried multiple weekday trips (not Friday), non holiday. every booking came up to same inflated price WTH and the place is under renovations.

sorry folks it still feels like a regular walk in the park with a bunch of trashy individuals who are desperate for a good deal but still a high-priced water park after seeing the reviews on the property. No thank you even more.

Been there once for a daughter cheer conference competition in the GA location.

Extremely disappointing so far trying to get in a booking with the queuing and errors.

Regarding the (Atlanta) park, we went about 1.5 months ago for an overnight and had a wonderful time with our kids (7 and 10 years). YMMV on adults only but I wouldn't recommend as it's almost entirely oriented towards kids/family.

I'm curious about all the "trashy" people comments. What makes some people trashy at Great Wolf? That they dress or look different than yourself? These opinions and judgements veer into some interesting territory sometimes.....

I've never seen anything like this queue system before, and it is a miserable failure from the customer perspective

Same wonder if they only gave X amount everywhere in the states. Means those of us on the west cost got hosed. Started at 6am PST. And left after the cheapest room and time was $279...

it's all over. even disney.

no matter how much disney raise prices, there will always be trashy individuals. especially those (local) annual passholes who take their park visit for granted because they can.
These parks are not like it use to be back 15-20 years ago. It was magical. The fast express pass is ridiculously expensive! for a family of 5 now, you will probably pay about $2000 ?!

Pass. Waited 6 hours in the queue, found a room for $84, but after the taxes/parking/resort fee it came to $172.31. Anaheim (Garden Grove, CA) location.

As someone that has worked in IT, I'm telling everyone right now the "queue" is pure marketing BS.. they'll make you wait then put a "limited time" (10 minutes) offer that is more than you expect or want to pay, (and doesn't give you time to read the fine print) but you're under the gun to accept of forfeit after waiting your turn... I was going to book but walked away when I ran into that junk. There is no way that their reservation system is so antiquated that it can't handle a few thousand simultaneous inquires... (think of booking.com for example, they don't have issues like this and they integrate with tens of thousands of other systems INCLUDING wolf lodge)... In other words... DONT GET TRICKED INTO PAYING TOO MUCH.

high wait times? I've been waiting HOURS just to see what is available. Seems like a scam where they have one day sale and then "accidentally" don't have capacity to meet demand on that day.

This queue is ridiculous, there aren't that many people that it takes hours to wait in a queue for this. Such nonsense..

"you will have 10 minutes to start your booking" I was in queue for about 15 minutes a couple days ago, and then spent half an hour or more poking around the site. It's just a 10 minute window to START doing anything or the page will time out and you'll get put back in the queue.
