Not true about not shipping to tax free states - mine was shipped to Oregon which is a sales tax free state.

~160 for the phone after tax. 10.64 for one month of service (15$ plan with $5 off for auto enroll): I think it's the cheapest option if just looking to get the phone unlocked.
The plan itself has no data so is mostly useless.
My goal: I want to uncheck the auto-enroll and remove my cc from Tracfone's site.
On the Manage Lines page, I do see my coverage end date is 11/26 which I believe is the date the $5 promo discount ends. If I move the auo-enroll slider, a pop-up shows asking me when I want the Cancellation date to be. I should select "Today" correct?
My gut tells if I chose the other option "On coverage end date", then I may not be able to just remove my cc ie the system may force me to add another cc to my account.
Am I thinking this correctly? TIA!

I got the Tracfone $15 talk/text, this is basically going to be on the shelf (with WiFi for data) until it unlocks and I can SIM-swap this into a T-Mobile line, so I don't need mobile data.

Not sure about Simple Mobile version - you probably can rebrand to TF by calling TF support since Verizon owns all TF brands.

I bought the StraightTalk offer two months back and today is 60 days after activation. I did not get any message about it unlocking, but I just went ahead and put my T-Mobile SIM card in and it immediately recognized fine. The phone says "No SIM Restrictions" in settings, so it worked perfectly.
I had paid for a one month contract and just left it in my drawer for the two month period.
Worked great!
