1 month is sufficient.
Bought mine over a month ago from Walmart for same price so this isn't a new deal.
Not true about not shipping to tax free states - mine was shipped to Oregon which is a sales tax free state.
I believe any/all of them. All three carriers are owned by Verizon and follow their unlocking policy.

Just FYI my experience - I've done this 4 times now - purchasing the IPhone SE 3 Walmart Family Mobile phone from Walmart online, pick up in store. Just minus steps 11 to 14.

~160 for the phone after tax. 10.64 for one month of service (15$ plan with $5 off for auto enroll): I think it's the cheapest option if just looking to get the phone unlocked.

The plan itself has no data so is mostly useless.
Hi. I have a quick question for you as this is my first time using Tracfone. I signed up for auto-enroll $15 plan for $10. Like others, I am only waiting for this phone to unlock. For me, that date is 11/27.

My goal: I want to uncheck the auto-enroll and remove my cc from Tracfone's site.

On the Manage Lines page, I do see my coverage end date is 11/26 which I believe is the date the $5 promo discount ends. If I move the auo-enroll slider, a pop-up shows asking me when I want the Cancellation date to be. I should select "Today" correct?

My gut tells if I chose the other option "On coverage end date", then I may not be able to just remove my cc ie the system may force me to add another cc to my account.

Am I thinking this correctly? TIA!

Just to confirm, the iPhone SE sold by Total by Verizon could be used with Tracfone's $15 plan? Thanks!
Yes, many people have done it.

I believe I selected on coverage end date, and then for good measure was confident that I was done when I successfully deleted my credit card from the profile.

I just did this as well, I got a ST version with store pickup. I followed the instructions from this post (which the above also does), using the SIM the phone came with. Confirmed unlock for Oct 8.

I got the Tracfone $15 talk/text, this is basically going to be on the shelf (with WiFi for data) until it unlocks and I can SIM-swap this into a T-Mobile line, so I don't need mobile data.
How do you select the option to do e-PIN Top Up (Receive a PIN through email to start service at anytime or give as gift.) instead of putting in the phone number (which we don't have with just purchasing the phone)? I try to click on e-pin top up & it won't do it. Keeps wanting me to put in a phone #...

Is the Straight Talk phone the same as the Simple Mobile one? Can both be activated on an existing account on Tacfone?

I can personally verify the ST model activates & unlocks using Tracfone.
Not sure about Simple Mobile version - you probably can rebrand to TF by calling TF support since Verizon owns all TF brands.

question: when you order the $15 tracfone (30 day phone/text), they have to ship the SIM + the plan to you right? That's the only option I see (2 days via UPS). I dont think there's an activation method where its all online, is there? Asking bc I just ordered the ST from Walmart, so should I order the Phone SIM Kit $0.99$0.99 + the Smartphone $15 Plan now so it can arrive at the same time as the phone?

Phone comes with generic sim (actually shows TF on sim), you can buy plan online when you activate.

No, you don't need to order a SIM kit. Just use the SIM card that came with the ST SE. After you received the phone, go to Tracfone site to activate. You can select a plan there (or use a service plan PIN purchased from other retailers or Tracfone eBay store.)

I think they are both on Verizon network now, so same activation process. (Previously SM was on T-Mobile network so 60-day unlock policy did not apply.)

Adding a positive result post for any concerned.
I bought the StraightTalk offer two months back and today is 60 days after activation. I did not get any message about it unlocking, but I just went ahead and put my T-Mobile SIM card in and it immediately recognized fine. The phone says "No SIM Restrictions" in settings, so it worked perfectly.
I had paid for a one month contract and just left it in my drawer for the two month period.
Worked great!
