I recently ordered 18 drives from this seller, and 1 was DOA. Was a little annoying, but it happens, not really the sellers fault. They provided a shipping label to send it back and shipped me a replacement quickly. No complaints.
I have bought 50+ drives from this seller , 3x refurb ones died but all RMA no problem. No recerts have died yet.
Answering my own question: 20 decibels idle and 36 under load. Reds are 20 idle and 29 under load. These are somewhat louder.

Has anyone run a full bad blocks scan on these drives? If so, any fail?
I got 4 of the 12 TB versions of this from the same seller, full extended smart and a full four pass badblocks (0xaa, 0x55, 0xff and 0x00). Took about a week, but reported no errors. They integrated into my unraid on proxmox setup flawlessly, though they've only been going for about 3 weeks.

I am pretty sure this drive doesnt use SMR, but the 20GB drive might. This is a good deal.

These are likely to be PWDIS drives, a feature that is useless outside of datacenters, and potentially a big PITA everywhere else. This is how to deal with it https://www.instructables.com/How...el-Disks-/ [instructables.com] . I have a DC HC530 that just today I removed from my PC where it was using a molex adapter and moved into a USB enclosure where I needed to tape pin 3 instead. I bought 1/8 inch kapton tape from Amazon and had to trim a strip to roughly 1/24 inch using flush cutters.
FYI. You can tape all 3 left pins instead of the 3rd pin only. I have done that and it works fine so far. Just taping 3rd pin is very challenging.

I remember the HC6xx starts to use SMR. Not in the HC5xx series.
