Thank you bcm00re! A few weeks ago, I paid $220 for 14TB Seagate Exos. The 18 TB model at $12.58 per TB is a steal. I'm in for 12 at a total price of $2,717.52 including free shipping and $0 sales tax to Ohio. It says they have 188 left in stock.

What is a NEW drive ? You have to investigate this, VERY carefully!

If I am selling you a NEW drive with 3 years from this website ... does that mean it is "NEW" drive if it doesn't come with SEAGATE warranty BUT only 3 years warranty from this 3rd party seller?

Now, if you didn't know that, and they don't tell you this upfront ... is that ok?

Now there are NEW drive 18 TB that has a 5 year SEAGATE WARRANTY also SOLD on the same website which costs more! ... which is LISTED as "NEW" , and a 18 TB listed as "NEW" that has 3 year SERVERPARTDEAL warranty. Are you Confused what "new" means?

Just be careful. It is done on purpose. It depends on what the term "NEW" means. At least go into this stuff, with your EYES WIDE OPEN! Buy or don't buy! UP to you, I didn't know this when I went to their site. I mistakenly thought "NEW" meant NEW! Smilie

He's saying they were potentially shucked or purchased from a non-Seagate approved vendor. Therefore no warranty from Seagate. Warranty from SPD (Server Part Deals) instead.

That link is for a ST18000NM000J this deal I posted is for a ST18000NM003J. I noticed Newegg and Amazon offer that same model. A couple reviews on those sites claim the serial number comes up Iron Wolf series drive. Others said these are old stock white label drives (from 2021) so there is no manufacturer warranty.

grabbed this deal and canceled my 16TB seagate external from the $219 deal last Friday. $7 cheaper, 2TB more storage, and I don't have to shuck the drive now. Thanks OP.
