Going the pre-owned route, getting just irons, driver & putter, you'd easily spend more. $2-400+ on irons, $150+ for a driver and $80+ putter comparable good condition used items. Ballpark $70-120 each on a 3W, 5W 3H & 4H. You would end up with better items that way.
If I were starting out again or wanting to upgrade a 10+ year old set, this would be nice if you want new, then grab a few wedges and a different hybrid. The putter is solid, and the irons and driver are good enough.
