I got mine today, it was brand new and AppleCare was automatically registered when it was still being shipped.
A tip if anyone is transferring over an old Mac, because I struggled with this today for a while: get a thunderbolt 3 cable, connect the new and old Mac. Set your old Mac to target disk mode and then turn on Migration Assistant on your new Mac and do "transfer from a Mac". If you run Migration Assistant on the old mac, it'll transfer over wifi and take a full day. Transferring over thunderbolt took me an hour.

How big is 1000 lines of code?
Even my 10+ years old PC with Intel Celeron can run VSCode without any problem
VSCode requirements:
1.6 GHz or faster processor
1 GB of RAM
Also I'd hate to experience VS Code on the minimum requirements as I've got a bunch of plugins running and waiting on my computer is not something I'm at all interested in. So minimum requirements are not very relevant in my opinion
Anyone found a way to fix this?

Yes, fully aware the (minor) performance difference. Note the 50%+ upcharge. I don't think it's worth it; opinions may vary.
