Again, open source is only good if the community are actively supporting it. Why, is MacOS, iOS, Windows, etc are bad because they are not open source? The problem, you think that if it's ot open source, it is automatically bad.
You can still print using SD card for offline operation.
Bambu P1 is far better than Creality K1

Also, no one is stopped from printing if offline. Even if both the WAN and LAN go down, you can still take your prints over to the Bambu Lab printers via MicroSD just like a Prusa and many other printers.
Big mistake, I still haven't had time to set it up yet and now the v3 SE is 199
And it has auto z offset and direct drive. And dual lead screws
And looks so much better than the V2 neo for 199.
I am not sure if I should just buy the V3 now and sell the V2 neo
Do you happen to know if the V3 SE is 199 as a standard price or is that a pre order only price?
It does not specify and I have asked and not got any response from Creality.
I could get the V3 for 199 direct and get a new customer discount of 8% and last time I ordered direct from Creality they didn't charge me state sales tax either 184 for the V3 seems like a good deal but Will I be able to unload the V2 neo for a decent return?
I am so torn , I wish I had just waited a little longer to jump into 3D printing
Things are moving so rapidly.
At this rate the K1 will be like 250 by next year ,at least on a microcenter special I bet.
If 199 for the V3 SE is regular non pre order price I will wait and hope for a microcenter new customer $100 off coupon deal.
My biggest anxiety is getting the Z offset dialed in

It looks like this V3 is $199 MSRP.
Comgrow gets 2 packs of V2 Neos sometimes for $269..but I think I would lean towards a V3 SE as well.
Here is what I know from the past few weeks.
The reason why it is cheaper is because it is an early K1 production model that has problems with the Extruder gear tolerance not close enough to guide the filament properly. That is why Creality offers the K1 Power Boost Kit upgrade for a few dollars in order to fix it. ( (FYI, early Bambu production units also has its own issue)
https://www.creality.co
$3 Kit Includes: AI Camera*1, Extruder*1, Hotend*1, Random Color Hyper Filament *1
Require that you own a K1 and submit proof before Sep 20
Plus, more than 3300 people claim it just for reference.
This upgrade put the K1 between the Babmbu P1S and X1C in terms of hardware, Slice software is another matter.
Knowing Creality on how they like to add PLUS to their model lineup. There soon will be a K1 PLUS just to compete with P1S. And will fix all the problems with the K1 just like the S1 Plus. I think Creality should have already released the open-source firmware for K1 already. So, Bambu should be worried. Reliable would take time to tell.
Bambu or Creality is not as innovative as you would think because their CoreXY printer lineup is just another spin-up COPY of the VORON DIY team printer which is truly innovative. But, they did make it more affordable/accessible to the masses. Plus, all of these 3D printers took time to dial in the setting so it is hard to say because they were released at different times.
For those who can afford the Bambu P1S at $700 + tax and shipping = ~$800. You will get a pretty fine-tuned firmware/software/QA making it print very reliable. Also, customer service is not as good as you would like for the high price you paying.
If you manage to snatch the K1 at Microcenter $380 plus tax/gas = ~$450 or
~$500 no tax, free shipping, and 2 rolls of filament at Geekbuying or
$408+ tax = ~$450 recently at Amazon making it a hard-to-pass deal.
Hopefully, Creality will spend more time fine-tuning the hardware/firmware/slicer.
Those who buy Creality should expect some DIY learning curve, fix/solve problems, and it will not be straightforward like Bambu.
So, pick your poison.
