The answer the the question I think you're asking is both. However, any drive in this line will work on a computer without 3.3V support. The Power Disable feature is problematic for power supplies that do provide 3.3V to the SATA connector. Neither of the models you listed have the Power Disable feature. You can tell because the second-to-last character is "L" (Legacy). In case you were wondering the difference between these drives:

WUH721414ALE6L4 - 512e (4K sectors, with 512 Byte emulation)

WUH721414ALN6L4 - 4Kn (4K native, no emulation)

Most people probably want the 512e model.

In case anyone is interested in the breakdown of the model:

W = Western Digital
U = Ultrastar
H = Helium filled
72 = 7200RPM
14 = Full capacity (14TB)
14 = Capacity of this model (14TB)
A = Generation code
L = 26.1 z-height
E6 = 512e, SATA 6Gb/s
L = Legacy (no Power Disable)
4 = Base (no encryption)
That one says it's a DC HC520 versus OP's deal of a 530. It looks like OPs has 512MB cache vs. 256 at GoHardDrive.com.
A few general points:
1) For those asking how reliable refurbished hard drives are, remember that these are ENTERPRISE level hard drives that are designed and rated to run nonstop for years in servers. If they pass initial tests that you do, they should run at least as long as any brand new retail hard drive.
2) That said, these likely HAVE been running for year nonstop in server farms. So, you should do the same due diligence you would do when getting any hard drive, new or used:
.. . . .- TEST the drive for errors, as soon as you get it.
.. . . . - ALWAYS back up your data frequently - with high capacity storage drives getting as cheap as this, keep a backup sitting on the shelf.
3) It seems that Server Parts Deals and GoHardDrive run similar businesses and are fairly interchangeable. Both have been in business for a few years now, and have offered many deals posted and bought by many users of this site. Prices seem to fluctuate quite a bit on various models, depending on what they have in stock. GoHardDrive sometimes offers 5 year warranties, if that helps you choose. They guarantee the warranties themselves, and will replace your drive if it dies. Go with whoever is offering the best price, and if they're the same, I'd go with GoHardDrive for the warranty.
4) The power disable feature could be relevant for those who have older power supplies. (anything more than a few years old.) For those who don't know what that means, basically, it shuts off if power is supplied to one of the pins on the connector. However, GoHardDrive offers a free adaptor cable (which doesn't supply power to that pin) on any drive affected by this. Otherwise, the adaptor (or kapton tape over the pin) can be bought cheaply on Amazon, Ebay or others.
5) Right now the best deal per terrabyte is the HE10/HC510 HUH721010ALE601 (0F27468) at GoHardDrive for $80 for 10TB. I think that that's the best price per terabyte we've seen so far. It's also a cheaper option for those who need more storage, but not quite a massive 14+TB drive. However, it's a model with the power disable feature, but it does come with an adapter cable. Also, the HC510 is slightly slower (less than 5%) than either of the newer models, HC520 and HC530.

Of course, now that I've posted this here, they'll probably end up raising prices or selling out from the higher demand! ;-)

Just received one from GHD and according to HD Sentinel it has 1354 days 22 hours power on time and time left is only over 470 days - luckily the warranty is five years. But have to pay shipping so don't know if I save anything if it goes bad. Doesn't sound too promising. Two more will be delivered tomorrow from SPD. Hope those have better numbers.
Personally, I'd take HD Sentinel's estimates with a large grain of salt. The real question is, is there anything in the SMART attributes of concern, such as pending or reallocated sectors.

Thanks! I got the E6 and it seems to work. I also think I got confused - you're right that the old systems DO provide 3.3v, shutting down the drive. That's why the molex adapters tend to work, I believe.

Got two drives, so far so good, no badsectors. One drive is approx 2% slower than the other. (Running two bad blocks in parallel)

Anyone has theirs making a sound/noise right from the very start (even idle), like the head is making a thunk every handful of seconds?
Even when I was in the EFI, where there's no need for disk activity other than spinning, it was making that sound.
I'm currently in the middle of a smartctl long test which should be done tomorrow.

The reason I got this was partly because of the deal, but also because I think my old 1.5TB drive may be on it's way out because under heavy load, and even some little load, it may give the clicking sounds with the heads (it's also quite full with there sometimes being ~5-10GB left). I had also done the long test with this drive when I first started noticing the sound like a couple of months ago, and it said it "passed", so not sure what to make of that...

EDIT0: Just came across this https://slickdeals.net/f/16813151-western-digital-ultrastar-dc-hc530-wuh721414ale604-14tb-7-2k-rpm-sata-6gb-s-512e-3-5in-recertified-hard-drive-117-22?p=165282629#post165282629 reference, where it sounds like it's to be expected.
Surprised given that it wasn't the norm for any of my other drives.

Just saw my old 1.5TB was a Samsung I bought 13 years ago for $78 from the now defunct superbiiz.

EDIT1: Just came across https://community.wd.com/t/period.../61?page=3 from a search, which shows it's a long-standing issue.
Seeing https://www.reddit.com/r/LinusTec...wd_drives/ too, claiming it's "Preventative Wear Leveling".
I bought 4 from this and 2 at $140 prior so a total of 6. Only one of mine makes this noise; I'm going to be RMAing that one and continue to test the rest with badblocks.

I will say that it did get better after doing some smartctl tests. Like right now, I don't hear it at all.
I also did stat comparisons between tests and after running badblocks, making specific note of any reallocated sectors and there were none. It's clean as a whistle, so I'll hold.
I don't know if there's a sensor in there to check lube or if it's time-based or what.

What do you use to test for bad blocks. I just use https://panthema.net/2013/disk-filltest/ for a single full disk fill and verify pass, should be enough to rustle up any bad blocks.
Thanks for the link. I'll try it next time. I just use the badblocks command in Linux (running through WSL). I think it took about 40 hours for write and verify of 14TB and that was with speed ups.
