  • In DEATHLOOP, two rival assassins are trapped in a mysterious timeloop on the island of Blackreef, doomed to repeat the same day for eternity

  • Learn from each cycle - try new paths, gather intel, and find new weapons and abilities, and do whatever it takes to break the loop

Enjoyed it for sure. I played it through gamepass. I'm not sure if it's still there. Either way, expect an Arkane Studios game (Think dishonored) with guns and cool, if potentiality repetitive, Groundhog Day and rougesque mechanics. I had a lot of fun, but it won't be everyone's cup o' tea.
FYI: Game is included with Game Pass.

It's still there, I got 4 days in and gave up, found it kind of stupid.

I enjoyed it, definitely worth a playthrough if you like these types of games.

First party Xbox games that don't feature licensed stuff (like Forza) are supposed to remain on Game Pass in perpetuity.

I tried but just couldn't get into it and gave up after a couple days. It is "almost" cool, but the repetitiveness of the time loop just ruined it for me (I also hated Returnal, so at least I'm consistent LOL). The environment, dialog, etc is good. If one could take those elements and ditch the timeloop part, bake in a story, there could be a game I would play here. But as it is.... I couldn't even get into it for "free".

If you liked Returnal or loop type roguelike games, you may like it.

Never buy Arkane games at full price, no matter how well reviewed they are. Steep price drops since the Dishonored days.

Then it would be a generic first person shooter and like 50 million game out there.

I absolutely loved Dishonored. And Prey was excellent once I got into it. I tried playing Deathloop multiple times but just can't get into it. It's just kind of boring.

True. Death loop game design is cool but there is no story to keep the player engaged. You started getting bored after a while.

I had the exact same experience. Seems like a game I would love but just didn't like it.
