Pretty sure the Quantum Fireballs were 3.5" (and some were horrendously unreliable). Are you sure you're not talking about the Quantum Bigfoot? I think I still have one of those somewhere.

I can't comment on the Ironwolf Pro but the Exos should have sequential read/write speeds of ~150-275MB/s (similar to the WD Ultrastar).
Had a Win95-era HP Vectra with the pre-installed Bigfoot (5.25 but half height) which I don't remember being louder than any other ~4000 or 5400 RPM brands. Now, that was no "performance" peripheral, by any means.

First gen of 7200 RPM consumer disks was obtrusively noisy beyond anything marketed today.

That's why I chuckle when people complain about how loud the Exos drives are. I still have a couple Maxtor DiamondMax ear piercers laying around somewhere. For me, the Seagate Barracuda IV was revolutionary. Fluid Dynamic Bearing motors and AAM (which I can only assume was abandoned for the purposes of artificial market segmentation).

Just received 4 drives I ordered and 3 are DOA.
Checked Seagate and these drives are only supported through the seller and do not have a 5 year warranty.
Sending them back. Does not bode well for confidence
