Bought this last deal. FWIW, smallest size survived being checked-in. Read reviews that wheels would break off, and was worried it would happen to mine too.
Never buy hard sided luggage if you plan to fly. The airlines destroy these. Buy a fabric luggage that expands and bounces.
Those fabric ones are trash. They get all dirty and you can never clean them fully. Plus they are don't protect your stuff as well. Time to upgrade, my dude.

Don't buy American. Travel abroad with a backpack and buy old luggage from a thrift store as soon as you need more space.
Some of the best luggage I have was purchased in Japan or Korea for way cheaper than what we pay in the US for our luggage. My wife's 350 dollar monos looking haggard compared to my 80 dollar clam shell luggage from Don quijote in Tokyo.
