The weight rating is substantially different (375 vs 250 lbs). Note that you need to factor in your weight + tools + whatever you're putting up or taking down.
Yeesh, even at $100 this is expensive for a plain 3-step ladder.
How does it compare to the Lowes ladder?

I want to say I bought this from Lowe's for $90 about a year ago not on sale- but Lowe's doesn't show it anymore- anyway this is a great ladder- there is also an additional tool tray you can get that gives you more places to store stuff while working and then the extra tray turns into a wall mount for the ladder to be stored on wall. We use it to store the ladder on the wall in our laundry room behind the door so you don't really see the ladder.

Funny the video at Lowe's for this one is actually in this post and not the one they pictured. I just compared to mine that is the same as posted at Costco, and it looks like the big thing is the color scheme is their orange, and the bottom step supports are different. On mine/posted deal, the brackets are metal and is a bent piece of flat bar. On the new version at Lowe's, it looks like it is beefier bent c-channel, however I can't tell if it is because it is now plastic. Same weight rating. I will say, unfortunately, I'm a bigger guy and the posted version at Costco will hold more than the weight it shows…

Maybe the biggest comparison is the fact that a lot of Lowes locations don't have these ladders in-stock. Lowes stores have been understocked on a lot of larger items lately and their delivery is a huge expense. But Costco is including delivery.

Why not get this for nearly half the price?

I got this for $15 or something on Black Friday. I got 2, they've worked beautifully for last 5 years. I use and abuse them. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Goril.../310833692

I wouldn't spend $100 for a small step ladder. Granted, I only weigh 205.

Same here. I didn't realize this was a shorty. Once I saw the weight rating and the cost, I was thinking the highest "useable" step/rung of it was at 5'.

Weight ratings for ladders have a large factor of safety designed into them. Actual capability is probably double than what's rated.
Probably wise to keep in mind frequency of use too though. If you rarely pull it out for occasional home use, yeah you probably have some weight leeway. If you are going to use it frequently as a professional tool, I'd be a bit more likely to follow the weight advice.

It was probably $10 back in '17. I got 2 back then also, and they are still great. HD had it on sale several times back then, but I think $10 was the lowest price. Most of the disagreements back then was that it was steel and heavier than the aluminum one at Lowe's for $5 more.
