Honestly I do not own a nonstick pan because of the materials. Proper use of stainless will make it nonstick. Take a look at the videos. I own this same fry pan and the large pot and they are excellent.
Have this set and love it.
I use all-clad, but they're all similar. Super easy to maintain. There is no seasoning with stainless. Clean it with soap/water like normal. When they get dirty use some barkeepers friend to polish them back.

When cooking turn preheat the pan for a minute or 2 before adding oil/food. It allows the "pores" to close on the steel and create a nonstick like surface.

For eggs, I'd have one nonstick pan. You can cook with stainless, but that's the one thing where it's easier not to.

How do you determine when to use non-stick pans and when to use stainless for cooking ?

I'm in the same situation. I don't use non-stick pans, cast iron, and stainless like these only.

Haven't had a ss set before but I want a more non toxic home. Is it a pain in the ass to maintain? How about if I want to just fry 2 eggs?

Probably not the best for just 2 eggs, but learning to preheat and using an adaquate amount of oil goes a long way.

Maintenance isn't too bad, just let it cool down a bit for washing, barkeepers friend is good for getting rid of any minor discoloration or anything like that.

I had a couple All-clads but then converted to induction and needed an entire new cookware set so I gave the 14 piece Tramontina set a shot. They work every bit as good as the All-clad. I ordered a second 14 piece set (I have 2 stoves) of the Tramontina and gave my All-clads to my daughter. If you're on the fence, just get them... You won't be disappointed.
As far as non-stick, I no longer own any. One trick I learned with quality stainless is to heat the pan then give it a light spray of non-stick even if you're going to use butter or oil. No need for non-stick pans.
btw... not all Tramontina are the same. They do sell a cheaper Chinah set that is only triply on the bottom with glass lids. Those are junk. The full triply made in Brazil are the ones you want (this post is).

Great deal! I've been using this excellent set for years on my induction cooktop, but I don't remember getting the 8qt pot.

For $150 for a set you're not gonna get All-Clad quality. You'll get a solid set of cookware. Unless you are doing high volume cooking, doubt you'll, have problem with these. I have other Tramontina pieces and they are good quality.

Same here. I have a Tri-ply set and a carbon steel pan.
Love them both. Have gotten really good at light oil spraying & pre-heating my tri-ply for cooking with no stick- including scrambled eggs.

Also, besides not liking the material used in non-stick, and worry about scrapping the coating- eventually the non-stick starts to fail. My tri-ply set is over 10 years old and still rock solid.

If I were in the market for a new stainless set, this set would probably be my first choice given the quality and price point. I had a chance to take a look at them at my local Costco and think their quality nears my Calphalon set I inherited years ago.

BTW, if you're looking to have a non-stick frying pan in the house, take a look at Tramontina's PRO Series. It's been my favorite go-to non-stick for general use.

This starter or "limited expansion set" is a fantastic deal, especially at a reduced price at Costco! It's a much better starter set (my opinion) than the comparable AllClad starter sets also currently on SD for sale at Amazon and Macy's.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE NOTE: Stainless Steel cookware IS NOT NON-STICK and should not be used as such, in many cases it's actually the opposite of non-stick. IF your are new to cooking or cooking with Stainless Steel multiply cookware of ANY kind, please research how to use it effective on YourTube.

The number one complaint of cooking on "clad cookware" is non-stick performance and it's almost always because those folks mis-understand the cooking attributes of stainless steel cookware.
