This is the viper lite, the one in the versus link is the non-lite version.

The few reviews I've found of the lite are pretty good:

Thank you. I didn't know there were 2 (multiple) versions. Versus doesn't seem to have data for the Lite.

Ugh, after looking at the specs, the drives are completely different, different controller, different flash (96L vs 232L), and DRAM removed for the Lite. They shouldn't be naming these with a same model number.

So do I need to buy a separate heat sink for ps5 use? That's what confuses me about shopping for an expansion ssd.

It is a good idea to have a heatsink for it if it doesn't come with one. Drives run pretty hot and while it won't kill itself, it'll run at a much lower speed (throttling) to save itself. Side effect is that it runs a lot slower. The small heatsinks that fit on the PS5 can be had for maybe $7-10. It clamps on as if you're building a sandwich and it'll include the thermal pads for you to put on.

I would get a heat sink that doubles as a cover for better heat exchange
