I no longer trust this store. I bought a bunch of epoch batteries here. Something like 20% of them were at less than a volt, and another 20% between 1 and 2 volts. Everything was able to charge, some requiring a lab power supply because my chargers refused to work with them. I don't know how longevity or capacity has been affected. The reviews for this battery all say the same thing, including mentions of talking to customer service, so the company is aware of the problem and shipped them out anyway.
It was these specific cells:

I see a lot fewer dead-cell reviews than I remember, and all the ones that mention dead cells are 4 star reviews. I really think they weeded out low star reviews. I looked at every 18650 cell and they all appear to have an average 5 star rating. Digging through I can't find a single review less than 4 stars. It's the same with chargers, and every other item I can find. I call shenanigans on this whole website.

Good deal, but shipping kills it.

Are there any other stores that are legit? Need 3500ma at 10A 18650
18650 is legit. As good as any US online battery seller. Liion Wholesale is good too. I'm a flashlight nerd. I've purchased from both stores at least a dozen times.

I've been purchasing Samsung 40T's from 18650 since they lowered their price to $3.99 each earlier this year. Only the new Molicel P45B's are slightly better (but twice the price). 18650 has been my go to, along with Liion Wholesale, for years. $3.85 is a great price.

What do people do if their flashlight needs a button top battery? These 18650s appear to be flat. Is there a way to make flat tops work?

Loose 18650 cells aren't fundamentally different from rechargeable AA batteries that have been around for decades. CSPC's warning is ridiculous. Use a proper charger and protect the cells in transport.
We used a proper charger designed for charging 18650 batteries. It still almost burned the house down. The fire department came out and told us 18650s are dangerous. I can say from experience that the CSPC's warning is valid. To each their own of course, just proceed with caution.

I have ordered from AliExpress 25+ times over the past 5 years. I even challenged an order once and got a full refund. On another occasion I got the wrong product (seller's mistake) so the seller sent the correct one immediately and free of charge. Both times I got to keep the wrong items. I find AliExpress to be a lot like eBay in that they seem to favor the buyer in a dispute unless the buyer is obviously wrong.
You're lucky. One seller sold me exaggerated capacity and when I offered proof of my test result, I was told my test equipment was faulty even though other batteries tested fine. However, I did have good and honest conversation with other sellers so not all sellers are bad.

Yes. You can easily solder a button to it. The easier way is to add a small flat metal object like a magnet.

Finally a tip for you buying from aliexpress.

Look for sellers who have been around for 2+ years and their review should be good.

Fake sellers often create their store just to sell bad items and eventually close their stores due to bad reviews and start another one.

Good luck!

I film every time I open a package from aliexpress. The first few times I ordered multiple things from a seller, any seller, there was always something missing. Their dispute process is fairly painless, if you provide evidence. Since I started disputing the last few months I've have very few missing items. I don't know if there's a correlation.

Don't be naive just cuz you associate these high powered batteries with that, everyone else does too? You do understand these are batteries, right? They power everything from cars, bikes, scooters, flashlights, portable charging stations, I can go on forever but that'd be as silly as your question.
Relax, I was just joking. I'm aware of the wide range of uses of 18650s. No need to call people names and contribute to SD getting more toxic than it already is.

I bought 10 of the Samsung cells to rebuild a couple defunct craftsman c3 battery packs. Figure I will rebuild one pack with the new cells, and rebuild the other pack with the good cells left over from the old packs. Bought a battery spot welder just for the job. Hope everything works out

That sucks to hear. I thought they were one of the trustworthy ones.
I think the remaining good stores are illumn, imrbatteries, and liionwholesale.

If you have old laptops laying around or old battery packs from tools that no longer work, you can harvest these battery's from those packs. Be careful however and do your due diligence.

If your battery pack needs replacement 18650 battery cells then yeah, I don't see why not.
Where can I get info on opening the battery pack and popping in new replacement cells. This would save a ton of money on buying expensive battery packs.
They should put in a slide out cover so it's easy to change out dead cells

Can I buy these cells to repair my battery pack for the yard blower
You will have to look inside your yard blower pack and determine the amperage you need and make sure they are the same size. Also note that some come with electronics that prevent them from over discharging. But it is always possible to rebuild a battery pack if it is made of of standard cells. Just make sure they are really the same. Otherwise, you risk overheating or a failure of the battery charger to recognize them.
