From my own experience and from what I understand about the 12900k is the memory controller is not as strong. I've had trouble getting my 12900k to run XMP 6000Mhz stable on my DDR5 kit. Even though my memory and motherboard are both on each others QVL. It will fail memory tests after a few hours of running. You might get luckly and get a good 12900k and it works, but it's not guaranteed by any means.
Almost tempted to drive the 2.5 hours to Boston for this
(Mostly kidding though, nobody in their right mind drives in Boston)
they will never ship this. will NEVER happen. they make no money on this. the entire purpose of these bundles is to get people to physically into the store and buy other stuff while there. it's the only way they can compete with lazy options like amazon

because they are scum buckets. i shopped there from 2004 to 2019. spent tens of thousands. but after they got bought out by some chinese company they went to s**t. bogus restocking fees. shipping broken returns instead of new items then blaming the buyers for breaking them. denying returns for made up reasons. allows scammers to sell on their platform and not helping customers when something goes wrong with 3rd party sellers. i can go on all day

on two occasions i bought brand new motherboards and got someone's broken returns. one of them had nearly all the pins destroyed. looked like someone whacked the cpu socket with a hammer. and they tried to blame it on me and reject the return. that was back in 2019. i filed a chargeback and never shopped there again

Mine stems from, like I think for many others, from their GPU combos "scam" a few years ago. At the height of the GPU shortage, Newegg was running these great end-of-day "sales" that made available a small number of GPUs. People were going crazy counting down the time and the spamming their site to purchase a unit. Then, Newegg changed their approach and started "bundling" the GPUs with shitty PSUs and RAM, but you copuld return the unused bundled item until Newegg changed their policy and would only accept a return if you returned both the GPU and the crap PSU/RAM. Botht he bundling aspect and their return policy change angered tons of people. This, combined with a perceived decrease in customer service going into this event, just cratered attitudes about Newegg.

Hence, I try not to buy from Newegg because I dont want to hassle with them on returns and really disliked their GPU bundling and return policy.

Oh, and it didnt help that some major tech YouTubers got into a row with Newegg about returning items that were bought when marked new and then arrived and were clearly open and used.

I think it would be important to note that this is in store pickup only. I would have been in for this if shipping was an option. Maybe next time!

Can't wait until they open up their new Miami location. They always have the best deals, but always in-store only.

This is true. I personally am running this CPU and noticed i could only run two sticks of ram otherwise it will crash constantly. Depending on what you are doing 32GB is plenty. Outside of that issue CPU runs great.
I was looking the MB FAQs for this package. It looks like it defaults to 4000MHz with 4 sticks.

"For the best stability and user experience, when installing 4 pcs of 4800MHz DDR5 memory, it will boot with 4000MHz. For other DRAM frequency or overclocking, please manually adjust in BIOS. Warning: Attempt overclocking at your own risk."

This is different from the same 12900 deal they've been running for a while now??

EDIT: just looked for past posts and it seems previously the deal was similar, but with the Gigabyte Z690 MB instead. The Gigabyte combo is still on their site with direct link [microcenter.com], but marked as Sold Out

Looking to build my first pc. I can swing this price. How much better is this than Ryzen 5600? From what I have seen there a substantial improvement to the i9.

Hella Deal for anyone needing a upgrade.. my nearest store is almost 300 miles though.. so I'm out ;(
This is the case for a lot of people. Deals from Microcenter are super regional. I do my best to ignore them.

I think you've confirmed me insane. It's actually not bad if you do it before 7am, I've done it in rush hour in a RV and now feel that I can take on anything while behind the wheel. Definitely try to avoid.

orders of magnitude, or more specifically it is ranked 76 places higher at the moment.

MicroCenter has the 7700x bundle at the same price which still benchmarks slightly lower. They have a few interesting more expensive options as well.

All that being said I have not complaints with my 5700g which actually ranks lower than the 5600x.

Pretty much paid $300 for just a 12400 and lower end mobo, early last year, and have yet to build a desktop with that stuff.

For gaming I'd save $100 and get the 5600X3d bundle.
