Product Details:
The Radical Dreamers Edition is a remaster of Chrono Cross.
The 3D models have been upgraded to HD, new illustrations have been added, and all kinds of new features are now included. Additionally, the game that formed the bedrock of the story, "Radical Dreamers - Le Trésor Interdit," is included in this edition.
Chrono Cross is an RPG that transcends time and space, unfolding across two interlinked parallel worlds.
Best soundtrack I've ever heard. Simply beautiful.
Game is decent. Just a poor chrono trigger sequel. And way, WAY too many characters. I can't even remember half of them.
I played a few hours of the original PSX one and it's not really anything like Chrono Trigger. There's actually a new game called Sea of Stars that's supposed to have a Chrono Trigger vibes.

This is an alright game... I played through it all recently. It just hasn't aged well so they added all the speed up and auto battle features which actually ends up making the game feel more like a chore. If you can play without the extra features it's probably the way to go. But it is pretty slow. Auto-battle and invincibility especially will make battles incredibly boring.
I would, however, highly recommend Sea of Stars. It just came out and is heavily inspired by Chrono Trigger and imo captures the magic of the early SNES JRPGs with just enough modernism. It's brilliant.
I remember playing this way back thinking it was just 'ok' game. I still think it's playable today and give it maybe 8/10. Still better than some of the recent JRPGs.
"just 'ok'" should be more like a 5 or 6 out of 10 on your scale. if 10 out of 10 is perfect, a 9 out of 10 should be outstanding and an 8 out of 10 should still be 'great'.
just ok is mediocre. 8 out of 10 is well above that. adjust your scale buddy.

Sea of Stars is a masterpiece! If you love JRPGs please give it a try ASAP! It will be this generations Chrono Trigger IMO.
Really wanted to compete this game however the optimization was horrible during launch, way to many stutters and lag.
Music is amazing, story was interesting but got bored halfway, didn't enjoy that battle system so it was hard to keep up.
Youtube has some good videos about how to tie this game to ChronoTrigger.
you would think that they are both completely different stories, but some how people made up good theories about how they can be tied, in a way.
My gripe is that this game should be a remake. It lags, even on emulator with some of today's best hardware.
This game is great - the only people who don't like it are the ones who expected this to be a Chrono Trigger sequel.
I played this first, and then Chrono Trigger. It's a toss up which game is better to me. The plot can get dark, and very real - something that is fairly rare in RPG's these days given Square Enix tries to reach the widest audience... so they don't take risk. It takes more risks than Chrono Trigger, and to me it paid off.
Anyway, this is top 5 for me. Soundtrack definitely helps, but the branching storylines and the way they developed stories for a good portion of the cast really drew me in. The script is poetic - it's unreal how much rhythm they pack into such a large, sprawling game
If you're looking for a tight, straightforward storyline, this isn't for you. It can get messy, and chaotic, but that's real life too. If you're looking for an experience, this is it.

Will never unsee

Sea of Stars's writing is rough, though, with lots of jarring comma splices.
