Best soundtrack I've ever heard. Simply beautiful.

Game is decent. Just a poor chrono trigger sequel. And way, WAY too many characters. I can't even remember half of them.

I played a few hours of the original PSX one and it's not really anything like Chrono Trigger. There's actually a new game called Sea of Stars that's supposed to have a Chrono Trigger vibes.

Not sure what people are talking about, this is one of my all time favorite games. The story is hard to follow, and might need a couple google searches to make complete sense and to pinpoint things back to the previous game, but the game-play and music score are phenomenal.

The whole purpose of the game's story deals with a plot-hole that Chrono Trigger left open, so calling it a direct sequel isn't correct. It is its own thing, and really the majority of the correlation between the two games is that they take place in the same "world".

I played this game in either PS1 or PS2 I forgot. But still remember how awesome it was, and the soundtrack was amazing!

Probably should've grabbed it on PC instead. Oh well.

I played the original back on the PS1, but buying it here on sale just to support finally having an official translation of Radical Dreamers (having played a fan-tran ROM back in the day). Square is actually getting pretty good about localizing old games as of late, and I want to support that. Romancing Saga 2 and 3 are two others that come to mind.

Now if we could just get an official Bahamut Lagoon release...

This was the the first RPG I ever played, which caused me to fall in love with this game as well as the genre. Just finished my playthrough on the Switch and this version is excellent. Big nostalgia hit for me. It's super easy but I've played through at least 15 times so first timers might see more of a challenge.

I got Sea of Stars just because CT is my fav game of all time (see my username). Decent game, but a 7.5, maybe 8 at best for me. Pretty much on par with FF16, but completely different strengths and weaknesses.

You can't compare Sea of Stars to this. This game is huge and it's recommended to not consider this as a sequel. You'll even enjoy it. I highly recommend it. One of my favorite games and I've played most JRPGs. The soundtrack is a one of the better ones.

I understand the graphics is rough… I'd rather play 2d/2.5d over it tbh. It's meant to stay in my memory and not replayed as much as I love this game.

Missed this the last time but it's back on sale now. Suggest also picking up Golf Story and Grindstone which are on sale for a few bucks and provide hours of simple entertainment.
