I would probably pair it with a Eagle GX RD and the whole MTB mullet thing if I was to do 1x12 on a gravel bike anyways...not fit enough* to keep pushing "only" 36T on the double and singletracks I regular in SoCal. This is too close where my 2x is at, but I get a nice 48/31 front to go with a 34T cassette and even that is long sometimes.
If I was going 1x, would like it to be 10-50T (srams ratio ramp spread is Meh @ lowest gears in the 10-50, but the 10-52 only makes it worse) rear with a 40 or 42T front to keep it versatile enough.
Would love this RD to be wider range to at least have some value selling ...I feel like there will be too many in the used market and not enough demand.
*unlike some godly good looking 👌 thigh-model stars in SD who can climb Arette (claimed 40deg / 80% slope) with fixie gearing 😉
