Architecturally, there is more difference between the two than just clock speed. The 6800 uses the Navi 21XL, which has 60 CU's and 60 ray accelerators, while the 6800 XT uses the Navi 21XT, which has 72 CU's and 72 ray accelerators. On average, there is probably a 10-12% difference between the two at 1440p.
Compared to the 6800, the 6800xt has (the second number in each comparison is the 6800xt): 60 vs 72 CUs, 3840 vs 4608 gpu cores, 60 vs 72 ray accelerators, a higher boost and game clock (numbers depend on the aib model), 96 vs 128 ROPs, 240 vs 288 TMUs, and a reference tdp of 250w vs 300w (depends on the aib model). The 6800xt is anywhere between 10-16% faster on average, with the difference being larger at higher resolutions.

Considering the XFX Speedster SWFT 319 6800xt was on sale very recently for $430, the 6800 has been sitting at $430 for months and has already dipped down to $400 previously, and the general downwards trend of gpu prices in general (exacerbated by the release of the 7800xt), I can only consider this as a decent but not exceptional deal. Anyone willing to wait will likely be able to find a better deal, though if you really need a gpu right this instant this deal isn't bad.
Considering the recent $430 for 6800xt, this would need to be around 380 range to be considered a sweet deal.

Nice deal but I still rock my 5700xt 1440p high on most games I play. Do yourself a favor and turn off fps overlay and just play. You won't believe how little it matters.

Will I get more fps than 11700k and a 3070 playing Warzone? Currently getting 110-120fps at 1440p on ultra.

I don't think drivers have been an issue for AMD for quite a few years now.

I mean, that's the thing. A lot of oooold cards are still pretty good, especially for 1080p.

I had a 390x from January 2016 all the way until June 2023. I still gamed on all-high and 60-70fps on all games.

Honestly, only if you're pushing 4k and if you want stable in the most advanced games at 1440p will you need these cards.

It really isnt the drivers but Nvidia pays developers to better optomize their software for Nvidia cards and very often has a Nvidia rep on site at the larger software developers. AMD just doesn't do this so very often software just runs better on Nvidia hardware over AMD. I also use Intel processors for the same reason software has the market share and developers spend more time optomizing for that platform. I have own AMD products and I ususally need some patch or have to do some workaround to get things running smooth that I just don't have to worry about the hassles of when I wun Intel/Nvidia!

Would this be a significant upgrade from a 3060 TI?
I personally disagree with the commenter who says to jump to 6800 from 3060ti. Yes the new card is faster but it'd be more compelling gains if you were going to 6800xt + or a newer gen architecture.

If you can sell the 3060ti for a significant recuperation in funds then maybe 6800 is an okay step up, less of a jump.
