I agree. This is one of those games that tried too hard to tell an over complicated, over explained story. I played only the main entries and it still felt like I missed a lot of plot because I failed to play the other games (on DS, Vita, etc). There's a recap of sorts but the games came out so far in between I generally didn't care what was going on.

As an avid KH fan, this is one of the worst games I've ever played. Don't waste your time and money on this garbage.

+1 I brought this game near full price and regret it. I like to pretend that Kingdom Hearts 2 was the last game and call it a day

I agree. This is one of those games that tried too hard to tell an over complicated, over explained story. This game was trash. It's easily the worst mainline Kingdom Hearts game. It made me lose any interest in the series.

This is also what caused me to lose interest in the series. I also bought in to the beginning because it included Final Fantasy characters. When I found out that they were no longer a part of the series, I really didn't care anymore.

For all of the hardcore fans that hate this game's guts, it's a surprisingly fun time if you just choose the easiest difficulty and skip all the cutscenes.
