It also looks like the link in the last x6 deal is still good which includes the 2tb for $89.

Up to 800MB/s

Uhm, no. Maybe 40 MB/s, if you are very lucky. Astonishing slow. Much slower than an external mechanical drive.

I had a $100 Best Buy coupon that was expiring and bought this because, well there's no such thing as too much storage, and it's an SD so it's got to be pretty zippy.

To it's credit, it is tiny and light, but to all intents and purposes it's so slow, it's useless.

Anyway I returned it and got my coupon back, with 2 extract months to use it, so every cloud and everything. Somethings got to show up on BB for Black Friday.

Are you sure there wasn't a bottleneck somewhere in your testing, i.e. possibly the cable or a port limiting the drive's data transfer rate?

Tried a different cable and even different computers - got the same result. Amazon reviews mention this problem but there are also people who are quite happy, so maybe it's a quality control issue.

My experience is that they are reasonably fast. I can edit 4K video on them directly. The newer generation is a good 20% faster unless you have a special version of USB 3 that only some PCs(no Mac's) have that lets you get over 2000 MB/s
