I've bought them all separately over the years as single deals and would gladly pay full price if I had to buy them again. These things are amazing, and probably spurred an unhealthy bias towards Knipex as I now own way too many of their products.
I miss the days not too long ago when I bought the rebranded 2 pack from Sears for $30 plus was able to use points!
The 10" is $29.95 picked that up because that is really the only one I need for high leverage when doing plumbing. My other smaller ones (OG vise grip) are adequate and I don't use them enough to justify a swap out. The 10" is a game maker tho.

Doyle is an HF brand that means it's easy for HF to replace it when it breaks. .. that if you can break it. Oh, BTW, Doyle tools are made in the USA not China. You can find their factory in Missouri and Ohio. They are very good tools. Like I said, go to HF and look at it. Have you actually seen one? If not, reserve your judgement for now.

Again, do you think people in SD are here to spend lavishly on things like Knipex? Knipex is arguably better (history/track record wise) but way too expensive and it boils down to who can afford it or do people in SD really will feel the difference of these tools?

For you, it seems like you need the Knipex, go ahead and get it for yourself but allow me tell others that I have found something cheaper that is perfect for people like SD'ers.. people who want to save money and just do some occasional use of such tools.
I've never seen a US made Doyle. Most seem to be from China or Taiwan. And you can't tell the quality of the tool, metallurgy, and heat treatment from looking at it. That only becomes apparent after repeated use and the Knipex will win hands down, every time.

I don't care if I can easily exchange a tool that breaks, because I want the tool that doesn't break. Not that one is likely to actually break either of these, but the Doyle is for sure going to wear out much earlier and need replacing while the Knipex will keep on working as designed.

As Harbor Freight shows, it can be really cheap to make pliers. But extra cost comes in using better steel alloys, better forging processes, better machining, better heat treating, and better quality control.

Even if two widgets come out of the same factory, some will be significantly cheaper by cutting out steps in the manufacturing process that the premium tools insist on.

World's best pliers- worth full retail in my opinion. I keep buying them to throw in odd places.

I was just at harbor freight. The Doyle is not made in the USA. Package says made in Taiwan…… 🙄

Amazon ratings are "adjusted"
Most people on the planet DON'T need these three sizes.

to do the job these tools are for, maybe 1% of the slickdealer, the rest of us just enjoying having them.

how is the regular handle vs comfort grip? I have both kinds but not long though to see the difference. But i have a bad feeling the comfort grip may get sticky over time. though some acetone will do the job then what is the point of paying more.

That's true. I'm a frugal guy with some Knipex tools and they are amazing, worth the (deal) prices; but instead of a whole set, I've prioritized a few specific pieces.

Cobras are badass, I'm not saying anything different; but a guy only needs the biggest or middling size of the Cobras in my opinion. Save some money for their adjustable wrench line and you'll never look back! Different application but Cobras are mini badass pipe wrenches/channel locks in essence. The adjustable pliers with the flat nut fitments are the item worth purchasing a whole set.
Knipex Pliers Wrench; "nothing compares; nothing compares. To you"

Their adjustable pliers are like a crescent wrench; completely redefined. Nothing else compares.

Edit: just look at the Amazon application pictures of the Corbas or Alligators! If you need to stand on a set to gain purchase (and grip well but lightly damage the surface of what you are gripping), you need something like this; and it works great.

If you need something to grab a bolt or nut, want good gription and don't want to tear it up; Knipex makes a set iof amazing tools for that. I've tried multiple knock-offs that have ended up in trailers and the RV over time; nothing is as good as the OG Knipex adjustable wrenches. At least nothing I've found!
