I have absolutely no use for this but I'm in for one at this price... maybe I'll make a fountain or something one day Wink
Free shipping only if it is shipped from a local store. If it is "Ship to Home", then it is not free.
Super slick! I probably wouldn't use this as a primary, but as a backup or secondary it would be good.

In your sump pit have the primary at the bottom, have the secondary next to it but higher so it won't turn on if the first one is working, you can have some govee or similar water detectors as well so you get alerted if the primary fails or they both fail. Various online resources for setting it up. Two check valves and a wye junction. Easy project and helps prevent overflow.

I don't believe they are meant for continuous operation.
Most motors are rated for continuous duty but I don't see it called out for this pump.

Bought 5 of the 1/2HP units. Great deal. We'll see how long they last but the HD ones are like $100 and burn out pretty often too

What size are the discharge threads? It looks like it includes a reducing bushing for 2 choices, but is not listed on the website.

Beware
Bought the 1/3 hp model to potentially clean the tankless water heater by cycling vinegar through it and I have to say that this is not a good solution, it's way too powerful.
Tried to turn it on in the bathtub and this thing is wild - makes enough splashes to get water all over the place. Too bad.

Just received this yesterday. This is the exact same unit as Lowe's store brand sump pump. The switch is the failure mode on this unit. The switch usually lasts about 2 years. The rest of the unit seems to last forever. Good for backup.
My friend who was a plumber told me the same thing. I sent him the deal and he said he wouldn't buy one unless it had a mercury switch. As a electronic hobbyist i would have to agree with him..

Can this be used to drain a pool?
Yes, is use a pump like this to drain two 100k pools each spring and fall. You want to keep an eye on it so it doesn't run dry for too long and overheat.

If you have to winterize a boat or PWC, put this in a bucket with antifreeze to feed the cooling system.

I like your style! 3600 gallons per hour, it'll never have a chance to freeze!

Do you just drop the entire unit into the pool or do we need to hook up hoses to each end and put one hose into the pool and one hose to where we want the water drained?

Can anyone recommend a hose to attach to the pump? (I'm trying to empty a pool and pump the water out)
