Yesterday I made the decision to switch from Verizon to AT&T for my family plan with 4 lines. Part of the process was making some account changes with the MyVerizon app so the process of porting our numbers goes smooth.

When I set up our Verizon account for porting out to AT&T, I magically received a text message the very next day:

"Hi, it's Verizon. Great news! As a way of saying thanks, we are applying a $10/mo discount to every active phone line on your account for the next 12 months. There is no action needed and you'll see it in the next 1-2 bill cycles. If you have questions please contact *611 to speak with a rep. Thank you for being a loyal customer!"

YMMV if it will work for you, but here are the steps to make Verizon think you are ready to leave them.

1. Open your My Verizon app.
2. Click on the Account icon at the bottom of the app.
3. Towards the top, it says "Hi (Your Name)" Click on the "Edit Profile and Settings" link underneath that.
4. On the Account Settings screen, scroll down to the Security section and click Number Lock.
5. On the Number Lock screen, turn off the Number Lock for each line. This enables other carriers to port out your line.
6. Go back to the Account Settings screen and click on Number Transfer Pin.
7. Generate a Number Transfer Pin. Since I already did it, I can't do it again right now in order to give you step-by-step directions. It was easy. You can figure it out.

And that's it. Wait a day or two and see if Verizon decides you are also a loyal customer worth giving a $10.00 per line loyalty discount for 12 months. YMMV.

Note: After a few days, go back into the app and turn Number Lock back on, so nefarious characters can't try to port out your phone number without your consent.

After trying the number lock / transfer pin many many times last few months, the discounts are finally showing up in My Offers section. However, when I click on say my line, it takes me to a plan change page, where I can't do anything without changing the plan. how do I get around this? My offer does say "No plan change required". My line is on old Get More plan.

I was able to apply the discounts in the app. The "offers" page did show it to me but it didn't take from that page, instead I had to navigate under the "myAccess" section and at the top of that it says "Explore top offers for you" in my case it was $150 off Samsung watch - but if you click that it will take you to a different looking "Offers" page. From this "Offers" page I was able to redeem all of my $10 off per line offers.

Thanks so much. I am able to see the Explore top offers in myAccess. But the weird thing is now all the loyalty discount offers have disappeared even from the original "my offers" section. Has this happened to anyone?

Edit: I had number lock turned off for 2 of 4 lines. I went ahead and turned off for the other two and the loyalty discount reappeared. This time I was able to redeem it by following the steps laid out by cpubradley.

This is what I did before I finally saw the discount. I turned on the Number lock on all lines and deleted the Number Transfer pin. I came back after 2-3 days (don't remember exactly how many), turned on Number lock on 2 lines out of 4 and generated a pin. I then forgot about it and logged back in a few days later and the discount was there. I never received any email or text about it. All my lines are on the old Start / Play More plans.

I managed to get the discounts to show up on MyOffers. How exactly do I redeem this? I cannot submit the change after I click on Redeem.

Goodness, left VZ after 20 plus years over a year ago for an mvno and am super pleased plus I save about $130 a month for 2 lines. I can't imagine still being with them and thinking they're worth the overall cost and staying with them for 10 bucks a month.

Same here.. I see the > chevron on the Offer Widget but when i click it takes me to a pop up which says "Save $10/mo for 12 months off this phone line" with a Redeem Button. When i click that Redeem button, it takes me to a Manage Plans page where there is no confirmation of the redemption

Steps were performed on the website and not the App

Did you do it again during it currently being active or wait for the discount to fall off for a month and then did it again?
