It is the new one. That said, if you're willing to drop 2K on a camera, surely you're willing to do better than that kit lens.

Sure, it's not much. But it's basically another $200 or $250 off the price of the camera. So if you're buying the camera, why not get the free lens and save a couple hundred bucks more?

NM - it just came up at the $2200 price. I'm in for a kit. I wanted the silver camera body, but for the deal I'll be happy with black. I probably won't ever actually use that lens, but I'm switching to Sony (from a ton of heavy FF and APSC Pentax gear). I have no other Sony lenses yet, so it will be good to have a "backup".

Beware buying camera kit from Amazon!!!!
I ordered a Fuji X-T5 camera kit (with lens) from Amazon and it arrived without the lens.. I ask them to ship me the right item and CS refused. So I return the item to Amazon. Wait 2 month for full refund after 10+ chat/call to CS and eventually have to file a charge back to my CC to get full refund. What a PITA!
NEVER AGAIN!

Canon R8, less megapixels, weaker battery, no IBIS, and less lens selection. But cheaper and better burst and maybe focusing as well.
