This is new info to me, so I thought I share it here for Bayarea SDers. If you own and EV with a CAV decal, you can apply for a CAV specific Fastrak to get 50% discount at toll bridges. You will need to upload your DMV-issued CAV Certificate for the application.

Bridge Tolls
All seven state-owned bridges have at least one FasTrak-only lane in operation. For CAVs to be eligible to receive the discounted carpool toll rate at the state-owned toll bridges, you must:
  • Display valid clean air decals
  • Have a FasTrak account in good standing
  • Travel through a designated carpool lane
State-owned bridges include Antioch, Benicia-Martinez, Carquinez, Dumbarton, Richmond-San Rafael, San Francisco-Oakland Bay and San Mateo-Hayward.

Golden Gate Bridge doesn't get any CAV discount.

Everything about the tolls is a scam. They were originally supposed to end once the bridges were paid for, but the folks in charge decided they didn't want to stop the money flow so now they use the toll system as a jobs initiative (employing lots of worthless administrators and CSRs) and after the government takes its cut for "administering the program" what's left is given to the failing transit agencies so they can pay janitors $200k to sleep on the job.

I would not call this a deal because this is the policy which has been executed in the past 3 years
The discount is only applicable when HOA times are enforced. That means weekends and off peak times are not valid.

And I really hated fasttack. 680 always has issue with scanning my toll tag and will charge me. 880 has no issue. If you have fast track, I recommend check the balance regularly. If the charges are based on license plate number, that means you could be charged even though if you multiple occupants.

Man, wish I qualified. I bought a used 2018 Leaf, but apparently you can't renew the CAV sticker or some stupid thing. So yeah, I have a CAV but cannot get many of the benefits. Frown
