Leatherman combo pack with the Skeletool, the Skeletool KBX, and a sheath for $64.99 in-warehouse. I'm not finding it on Costco's website. Normal price on the Skeletool alone is $75, the Skeletool KBX is $40, and a sheath is $10.

Wirecutter's pick for favorite multi-tool is the Skeletool CX, which has an all-straight and harder 154CM blade. The base Skeletool offered here has a 420HC partially serrated blade.

As context, in recent years Costco was selling the Leatherman Bolster, then exclusive to Costco, with a sheath for $40 in-store and $45 online. It now appears that the Bolster is available to all on Leatherman's website for $50.

Just looked at my receipt, and I got the Skeletool CX for $45 from Walmart in 2012, so that puts me halfway into my 25 year warranty! Highly recommend the CX, but no experience with the regular skeletool

Meh. Costco carried the Bolster for sometime and put them on clearance for $27. Wished I got more. Personally I'd wait on the Skeletool for a coupon or clearance.

Prime days also coming. Worth looking into better alternatives…and I'm not referring to Gerber or SOG junk.

Nice price, I'll have to look for it the next time I'm at Costco. I don't remember seeing there before.

I had two Skeletools, one unfortunately got taken by TSA, another probably stolen after I left it sitting out at a jobsite. Couldn't stomach buying another, but this makes it tempting.

Costco had these for $59.99 earlier in the year, and marked down to $50 for a while too.

Not sure why the price bump, but it's a handy tool and not a terrible price.

the difference is really just preference based. the regular skeletool is a different steel, which is both good and bad depending on what you want, and the serrations are a preference. its a great tool.

He's saying that Gerber and SOG are junk. Which they are, if you're comparing their multi-tools to Leatherman's.

Saw this today in store and it was not the CX. It was the regular combo blade (partially serrated and plain edge) version.

Both tools were silver.
