Bought this exact item in Summer for my portable projector on a camping trip at full price, works really well and seems to be well built.

Main issue is trying to lug this around because of the tray, you have to screw on the bracket to the tray for the tripod to stick onto so you have a tray with a bracket sticking out in the middle you have to play tetris with to lug it for travel.

Also for half price I'd say its definitely worth it

Thanks for posting. Perfect timing, I like to set up the projector outside for Halloween. In the past I just just saw horses and a piece of plywood. This should look a little better and be way easier to level

This is EXACTLY what I need for my projector to put up a background while I'm streaming on twitch. I have been using a Jerry-rigged barstool, box, can, and coasters setup to get the idea height and angle. Lucky for me, this $18 tripod maxes out at the ideal height — 36".

For those not seeing the discount and saying it's dead, you have to apply the 20% off AND use code 25FJC72S at checkout. Rang up at $18 for me five minutes ago.

Thumbs up and repped.

At least four people who bought this stand reported an unbearably strong VOC smell that did not dissipate, even after weeks. Search the reviews for smell and also odor.

The Smell!!!
By James W in the United States on December 20, 2021Functional, however the chemical smell is unbearable. Had to leave it outside for 2 weeks just to make it useable
This Stand Stinks
By Gogo Diaz in the United States on January 12, 2022As in, it smells horrible when you open the box. I'm assuming it was paint fumes. I could not wait around to find out. I left the item outside for 2 days and when there was no lessening of the foul smell I was forced to return. I couldn't even put the item in my car for fear the smell would take over. Instant toxic headache. I suggest you change the label to "outside use only" because VOC city. I thought spending over $40 would give me a higher quality product. Instead I was poisoned. Bleck! see less
Works great for laptop; a bit difficult for projector
By Dougie Fresh in the United States on October 28, 2020I got this for two purposes: first to use with a laptop while sitting on the couch and second for using with our projector for outdoor movies.
Putting the stand together was easy. The only issue here was something in the box smelled horrible and I had to leave it out in the garage for a few days before it went away. I could tell though from the way you make adjustments on this using clamps that when it came time to use the projector this would be a pain but more on that later.
Using it with the laptop was easy. To adjust the tilt you have to untighten the clamps that hold the tray part to the crossbar and then re-tighten them. The tray has a small lip so so real worries about the laptop sliding off at a slight angle. The lip would not however hold it at a steeper angle. When typing the stand is sturdy. It's nice to have it off my laptop and out in front of me.
Using it with the projector was more of an ordeal. Getting the projector so that it's centered and level on the projector screen requires getting the tray at the right level and the height adjusted just right. This involves putting the projector on, trying it, taking it off, untightening, tightening, trying again, and adjusting the height means pulling the pin, moving it up or down and trying some more. You can't really make any adjustments with the projector on the tray without fear of dumping the projector off. Not to mention, the tray that came with mine is slightly warped adding to it. But. it's better than what I had which was a outdoor table and some books.
Overall, it works well for the purpose if you have some patience. It's easy to put together and sturdy. Just don't expect to easily be able to make fine adjustments. see less

bought this exact thing for $34 in July for outside projector and love it. I'll add that I definitely didn't have the VOC odor issue.

I'm seeing $34.39 with clippable 20% off code. Then also add the 25FJC72S code at checkout and it brings it downs to $18.91. In for spare at this price.

I placed an order with the wheels version. Wanted to buy the regular one and code doesn't apply, guess it's one time use

Question for those that got the non wheeled version. Set mine up today, it's not like it's complicated - but the top part/tube that slides into the bottom with the tripod, it's like the top tube is a lot smaller than the bottom tube and there's no way the tensioning device is clamping down enough on the outer tube to prevent it from sliding down.

There are also a few O rings that I think are basically bumpers?

Is there something I'm missing here?
