The track is not compatible with other brands so you'll have to buy from ryobi if you need longer tracks, but 55 inch is good enough for my tinkering
The base is plastic but unless you abuse it, I feel it's steady enough for my cuts (I use a track saw when I need accurate cuts, so I'm not going for speed anyway). No wobbling or tilting once you set it right. Maybe not as easy and intuitive as those higher priced ones, but it's also a one time setup, so doesn't bother me.
The plunge stop is also a plastic screw holding against a plastic shell, which I suspect where the negatives are coming from. Again for my home diy use, I see nothing wrong with it. Sure I'll be happy for metal housing and all, but I don't really need it.
I'm still using the stock blade despite getting a Diablo immediately getting the saw. So far it's served me well with cutting plywood sheets up to 3/4 thick. I 3D printed a cover for the opening and I'm getting most of the dust extracted with my 6gallon ryobi shop vac.
Bottom line, if you're invested in ryobi battery line, and only doing diy work, I think this would be a perfect addition to your workshop given the price point.

I don't think I'd feel the same way if I'd paid $200 for the tool-only version, even if the "retail price" is $330 or whatever they're saying it is. While the tool feels fairly solid in my brief experience, it just feels like it has a lot of plastic and generally feels kinda cheap for that much money. I agree with the other comments that it feels sufficiently sturdy even with the plastic, but it just feels like they should've delivered more for the original MSRP to be that high.
