Buy 2 shelves yourself, and pick up this:

definitely going to gut these for several smaller stands.
will have to hacksaw off the side 'bars' from the smaller shelves.
poles are 1" thick and shelves are very heavy duty.

i purchased 3 and received them 2 days later.
i hack sawed off the 'arms' on the 3 smaller square shelves from each set.
let me tell you those arms were very decently welded on each square self as it took at least 5 minutes of hack sawing some on the top and bottom of the weld and them bending to break off the 'arm' on each side of the square shelf. O.O
i made one big stand with the longer straight legs and 2 smaller stands with the flared out legs, each with 3 shelves.
Yes, I bought this thinking it had a top shelf. Nope
Besides the Costco one I mentioned (without a link), which is also certainly made in China as well, I was also watching this one

I have actually purchased from Mythinglogic in the past (a home gym storage organizer) for my wife's home gym equipment and found their products to be well constructed.
I also remember "once upon a time" when everything was "Made in Japan" and there were plenty of neanderthal's who thought those items were junk too.
But go ahead with your beliefs.
this second link from this post is more fake chinese garbage can you cut it out already?
