I think you misread the title. This is CHARGER only NOT jump-start power bank. These are used when car wasn't driven for few weeks or more or someone else forgot lights on overnight to slowly charge batteries back to full capacity. If battery is completely depleted you can still start the car with jimper cables (not advisable by manufacturers for newer cars which have tons of "brains" which can be destroyed either by mishandling of mentioned cables or if car that has dead battery has a short of some sort which can cause the car providing the jump power get messed up by that) BUT in order to charge the battery back completely you might have to drive a decent distance/time, this charger allows to do it at home with access to 120V outlet.
It's bit overkill for maintaining battery charge since those are usually around 1-2AMP bit it can be used as such as well.
These chargers do NOT have internal battery.
You'd have to park your car in your garage or driveway.. get an extension cord, plug your car charger and hook it up to the car battery to charge. The cars alternator will be charging your battery while you drive to keep it topped off. But if you don't drive much or do a lot of short trips, then charging your car battery would be a really good idea.

You lucked out.. I think that one is better. the display of the sc1599 doesn't say much. just if the wifi is on and a yellow power led that will turn green when charged. No percentage indicator on it. Yours looks like it will.. looks like it does.. saw it on youtube.. sidescrolling info action! I guess that's why they have the app. The reviews for the app on the google play store are pretty horrendous but I was able to connect the first time.. no problem. and then disconnected and charged another battery and was still able to pull it up on the app. I'm not getting a notification if at 100% which wouldn't been nice but the 6amps kinda nice and goes to 1.9amps to maintain it looks like. Odd thing is.. no matter how many times i refresh.. It will only refresh the stats every 10mins. Like i'll have to close and reopen the app to see if pulls current data but only after 10 mins from the last reading.. it will finally update. So it's not live data like watching the amps/volts in real time. Kinda disappointing but at least you can see the percentage from inside the house.

Well I did take it back already on Saturday. They looked it up and said I got the wrong one and had to order in the other one. Should be at the store tomorrow.

Even those chargers do not maintain at 1 to 2 but much lower once battery is full. Same for this one.

Bought this thing over the weekend. Really basic looking. no buttons/switches whatsoever. How does it know if I want to charge a 6v vs a 12v battery? Installed the SchuPower app but can't login. Keep getting "Error. Incorrect email or password". I am VERY certain the email and password are correct. Resetting password makes no different. If you install the app in the last few days, are you able to login and use the app to monitor this device?
Such a crappy piece of SW. May return it because of this issue

Got it last weekend. Topped off my car pretty simply. Plug and play. Choose this over noco genius for full charging capability.

All of these are similar, you plug it in and the charger determines the voltage for your battery, check on it every few hours to see if the light turned green (or leave it indefinitely if you're maintaining the battery)

The app is horrible, no debating that.

I got the SP1298 red model as well. Autozone scanned the red model barcode and it showed up as an alternate part number for the SC1599. Should I keep the red model?

Same here.. great idea holding onto the old metal ones from the 70's.. i tried to disulfate an old battery with it save it.. looking at the little bubbles but lol.. didn't do much.
Over-voltage is one way to desulfate a battery which is a setting on some smart chargers. What's the amps on your charger and have you tried it on other batteries? Not sure if high amps will work from a battery charger, but now I'm curious. When using a regular battery charger, it's releasing hydrogen and oxygen and part of the recharging process.

DC welder supplies high voltage and amps.

Other battery chargers, like my Battery Minder sends a pulse to desulfate. Though i've killed 3 car batteries, slightly improved one, and got 6 more months out of a motorcycle battery.

I assume you measured the voltage directly?

I can't find a user manual for this model anywhere online. The SC1599 is curiously absent from the Schumacher website. And documentation for similar models provide absolutely no data on the charging profiles for either SLA or LiFePO4.

Is it really asking too much to see what the charging voltage is for a f'ing CHARGER product???
Any luck finding a manual?

I saw that Project Farm video you linked. I got like one little bubble every 10 seconds. lol. But I did end up getting a BatteryMINDer 2012: 12 Volt-2 Amp Battery Charger 2 years ago that I like a lot... it has the desulfate pulse like you mention as yoursl. But.. I figured this schumacher would be nice to charge my other car while it's in the car. Darn slickdeals.. i feel like I have two of everything.. lol. A back up to a backup. haha.

If you don't care about the "smart" WiFi stuff on the other model, yes, keep the red one. It's the same charger essentially, just without the WiFi.

Does the manual list the minimum battery voltage required for the charger to work?
Does it have a restore (or something similar) mode to bring up a low battery up to the minimum voltage?
I couldn't find a manual online.
It does not have a "restore" feature.

Thanks, just went LiPo and need this. The WiFi is cool if it works and those smaller 1A charger/maintainers are sloow compared to a 6A.
How do we connect this to WiFi?

Oh, I see, I got the red model. Is that better? Or the WIFI one is better? Might as well take it back if WI-FI adds value..

You add it to your network like any other WiFi device. IIRC, there were set up prompts as you go thru the App registration process.
