Probably what it would cost to buy each item individually. Life is much simpler when you ignore the crossed out prices that you aren't paying and compare the current cost to other stores, similar items, and past sales.
Why is the msrp so high, $245?
Too many 1" bits. No 3.5" bit.
Not enough nut drivers.
Limited drill bits.
I guess it's for cover occasional use only.

lol, right? I'm used to MSRP being high but that's just ridiculous... each one of these boxes typically sells for <$30

It does have some nut drivers (and drill bits), but for a relatively large set it is kind of a bummer it's missing a few select 3.5" bits and a 3/8" socket adapter.

Still, not a bad buy @ ~$42 if you need some good bits, and these cases are also really nice - especially when you have 3 you can 'mix & match' to put together your ideal bit box.

These suck. They shatter quite easily. I still have the old black style impact ones that are a little worn but have yet to shatter on me.

They do this, so you end up buying another set in another deal…

I have one of these similar sets and honestly, I'm not impressed with the endurance or quality.
While doing some deck work, had two bits break and two rounded off.
I'm going to get the Makita set and see if they do better.

Also, I wish they would leave the drill bits out of these kits. I'd much rather have a comprehensive drill bit kit than just a couple of common sizes.

I just bought a smaller version of these sets and it's really annoying they don't come with a 1/4" adapter. The bits are nice quality but a cheaper Ryobi set I got had that and it's something I need pretty frequently so it's nice having ONE case with everything.

i'm not a super duper pro, i don't build homes for a living, but i feel like you can get better sets for this amount of money from brands like bosch, neiko and others by shopping amazon sales. you can get exactly what you need and nothing you don't

for example, i don't think you need that many square bits of the same size. it's pretty hard to mess those up. i built a deck, 20 foot tall stair case for said deck and a 2 car garage with 1 square bit, and it still looks good. i did ruin a couple of torx bits but the square basically looks brand new.

again, i'm not a pro. but i don't get the point of this set. an extension and/or more sockets with less redundant squares would make more sense to me.
