I heard some where that price for storage ssd and hdd are going up soon. I am not sure how high or how soon.
Probably from reports like https://www.forbes.com/sites/tomcoughlin/2023/10/22/seagate-introduces-28tb-hdds-and-signs-of-storag... [forbes.com] and https://www.guru3d.com/story/3eac...07a7fb807/ and https://www.businesskorea.co.kr/n...xno=202901 where Samsung has announced strategies to combat the falling prices and a clear intention to raise prices on flash storage for nvmes and ssds. Even if they do cause an average 5-10% rise in prices, there will be plenty of sales and you probably won't notice it too much. Larger platter drives are also on the horizon, so they will come out and likely push down the prices of current <= 20TB drives, so again I wouldn't worry too much.

Hopefully the laughing man is right sooner rather than later, it'd be nice to grab one or two new 20TB drives right around $200. I feel like that's the magical number for a lot of us.

Something about the code being spooky and this being a refurbished hard drive makes me think twice.
It was spooky alright... Only 2 weeks and 1 of the 4 drives I bought has already failed. Mad At least I assume it won't be difficult to RMA. The drives all have dates of April and January of 2022 too. Not very old at all.

That sucks.
18TB for $200 at BB right now if you don't mind shucking an Easystore.

Bought 8, 2 of them failed within 12hrs of being online. 1 loses communication and goes offline, the other repeatedly has IO errors (reported by the controller). Was given a RMA for the first one pretty quickly, now requesting a full return of all 8.
