I'm not convinced. On zappos the materials are listed:

Man-made upper.
Lined with warm, moisture-wicking shearling
Man-made insole.
Man-made outsole.​

On LLbean those materials are all genuine sheepskin.

I think this is a deal. L.L. Bean sells similar slippers for $99. (I believe this particular style is discontinued, which is why it's so inexpensive.)

If you read the thread, one of the top comments is about it being a discontinued model, not a made for zappos model

I actually don't think these are 'made for Zappos' because L.L. Bean sold them on their own website, see HERE [llbean.com].

Being a 1/2 size, I never know if I should jump up or down in size. Have to read a lot of reviews to determine and just when I am convinced to order a size down, I run across a comment that says the opposite. After struggling on which to order, I decided it was easier just to order 2 sizes and I'll return the one that doesn't fit.

I'm a 10.5 and am returning the 11 for being too big. Definitely size down.

And yeah, I ordered 11 when I usually wear 11.5. I also have 10% off on my account (and have for years), and I can't figure out why. I thought it was a teacher discount, but I can't find any info. Anyway it was $28.44 for me at checkout. Can't resist adding another to my stable at that price.

You are correct, the Zappos version the shearling is just a "sock" sewn into a man made slipper. Similar to what Costco regularly sells. Not bad, just not real sheepskin.

The real ones from LL Bean are sheepskin outers with shearling. Much higher quality.
